Just played it for a couple hours non-stop....
Hmmmm, story sucks, graphics are nice.....items are nice, lotta skills....just trying to find a different map and get to level 10 to expand the skill tree....good competition to diablo
Oh, and it uses that aegix (sp?) physics software, good ragdoll effects
BTW, the only reason I stopped playing was due to a crash....

I just want to get this str8; if you have NOD32 enabled you come into the menu, but crashes when you press "create" or anything like that? The background is green-gray?
If i installed the game with it enabled, is that a problem?

Yes...the backround shouldn't be gray,it's suppose to show your character(after you created it) standing on a rock and there is a lush backround.
NOD32 blocks the file MAP20bis to be installed...that is the problem.
Go to the NOD32 control center -> threat protection modules -> AMON -> File system monitor(AMON) enabled...uncheck this box and click yes.
Now AMON is disabled. you can enable it after the installation is complete.

Technology or natural can be increased by completing quests. Usually, quests given by human and goblin will increase technology, and quests given by elf and troll will increase natural.

Is anyone else getting ridiculous amounts of stuttering? I have "only" a gig of ram and the game refuses to play smooth at all while running across the map. There is like nonstop hard drive rape in every situation, sometimes the game pauses for a few seconds to load whatever data and at certain moments this pausing can go on for almost 10 seconds.
My pagefile was set to 1.5 gigs and when I alt-tabbed out of silverfall the pagefile consumption was at 1.9 gigs!
I dunno if you guys use diskeeper but it has this utility called frag shield that extends your MFT and pagefile based on its peak usage. I ran that and let it adjust my PF to 2.8 gigs. When i tried the game again the stuttering was still there and practically makes the game unplayable.
Yeah I defragged too and tried to free as much Ram as possible before starting the game, I can't figure out if the game just NEEDS 2 gigs of ram like Gothic 3 to play comfortably or somethings going on with my PC.
Any Suggestions?
BTW: The fact that the quests are marked right on your map for you to run straight to and complete is pretty lame, it sorta eliminates any exploration aspects.

^Try playing with medium textures unless you've already tried. Made a huge difference for me in performance. Also make sure you installed the Ageia Physics drivers when you installed the game. That's all I can come to think of.

in the setup program , in the bottom right corner there is the option that turns off the ageia , but still you will need those drivers to run this game - isn`t stupid

You change a value in the setup.ini on the game image to install it in english, copy over some audio files and the game is completely english.

No not necessarily, there is a torrent that was upped by one of the posters in this thread, included in it are the audio files and instructions. There are others available that just provide the plain french image and nothing else. Its really only 2 steps. Change the line on the setup.ini to a different value and then copy the English audio into the specified directory.

yep. i've gotten to lvl 28. I'm 90% nature and have put all my points in intelligence, except for 40 or so which I have saved up. I'm using air (lightning) spells only. I was incredibly annoyed when I noticed that you can't increase the last air spell (that you get at lvl 25) more than once... so now my normal lightning spell does more damage than the lvl 25 one... I haven't put a single point in the nature skill tree, as most of them are useless for a spellcaster. And I maxed the faster running skill and the skill that gives you massive mana regeneration if you stand still.
Also, I'm playing without any skill hotkeys cause they don't work for me. But the fighter guy and the healer can usually tank while I just blast from a far.
And I have elf as race, so I get their passive increase in elemental damage skill which is pretty nice. Especially when you consider that the elemental tree has such a skill also (I do hope they stack)
So far I haven't had much trouble with the enemies, but it's getting a bit harder now.
edit: I also maxed the magic find skill.
edit2: just noticed you can increase the lvl 25 skill, just not 1 per lvl.

I'm level 23, human
All my points are in a shadow minion that shoots 3 purple shots into the enemies doing about 30 damage per shot, I also have my freeze circle maxed that freezes all the enemies (in a LARGE radius) for 10 seconds, then I have the passive power/life recharge when immobile, (the same thing you had at the beginning of the game when you were the wizard) where your shit recharges after a fight. Game is pretty easy right now considering that I freeze people and then have a guy with me that shoots them as I use duel wield and cut'm up
Now I'm stuck though, i finished a quest and was suppose to take a boat to the NE corner of the map, and for some reason I chose "no, i'll find my own way" or something like that, and I can't figure out how to get there.....sux ass

You can walk there if you go to the forest north of Gaia, and then there's a ramp leading up to the east.
I completed the game btw, and what an absolutely atrocious endgame. I wonder what they're thinking when they do shit endings like that. I wasn't expecting much, but any kind of proper ending would have been nice...

my opinion so far after playing some days:
level 34, elf firemage
nice try to create another action RPG but fails for many reasons:
- no unique items? no set items? that cant be true... but there indeed seem to be only randon generated items. I mean, Dungeon Siege 2 and Titan Quest set the standards here - a good mix of unique, set and random...but nothing here, no motivation for item searching
- this game is far too easy (standard). I didnt die once until now. it gets a bit harder when playing further but with 3 party members, one fighter (tank) and two mages you almost cant die. the monsters are not attacking on sight but are waiting until you attack... the AI is so bad that you can kill monsters without reaction if you keep a certain distance.
- huge world, but nothing to discover, everywhere legions of standard monsters, standard landscape, but no interesting places to find with secrets, valuables, items etc.
- pretty linear, no real choices good/evil (until now)
- story is the usual fantasy cliche crap, sidequests are boring, no good atmosphere
- this game has the worst 3D engine of all RPGs this year - with my 7900gt 512mb a stuttering and pop-up orgy (even on medium settings)...incredible. compared with Silverfall even Gothic3 and NWN2 are pure performance wonders.
- some bugs: side quest givers disappear suddenly, map markers are wrong, sometimes clipping problems
OK, to be honest, there are a few positive points, too:
+ game runs VERY stable, not one crash
+ the cell shading graphics are (sometimes) nice, good spell effects and shadows + excellent pathfinding routine. you can click on a map point not directly reachable and your party will run around all obstacles and get there
+ skill system is OK
Nevertheless I can not really recommend this game, neither buying nor DLing
Stay with Titan Quest and Dungeon Siege 2/Broken World - they are IMHO lightyears better

^good points. I agree with most of them. As a + I would also add that it was pretty cool with the nature vs science conflict, although they could've used it a lot better in the game.
