if your having desktop crashes then make sure that you have blocked internet access for the game... it is dialling home....
if you dont like having to block the game with ur firewall go buy the original....stop fecking moaning...

if i unblock the game it crashes to desktop randomly and often... if i block it again then it doesnt...

its mad that so many people are dissng EA for a bugged game when they havent bought it, just downloaded it....there are enuff reasons to diss EA for already Smile

and for those having install errors (about dx0) then read the thread...put the setup.exe into win2k compatibility mode...

i take it back, after reading those posts it seems there is a problem with retail (certainly retail download from ea, not sure about retail disc), but their problem seems fixed by using the no-cd crack - but still the issue seems to be net call-home related

disabling AA completely fixed for me,jaggys yes but no crashes so far,usualy crashed while selecting other cars in safehouse or carlot & while autosculpting

game runs great here...

BUT... whats the deal with the controls?...

-there's no 'look behind' button... just a shitty small rearview mirror... WTF!?
-there's no button for the 'menu'... it was by default on a button on my gamepad, but i chose a different control for that one, and now u cant pick it... ESCing on keyboard sucks while in-game...
-there was no way for me to enter the safe house or start the races while driving thru them map-blips... no button let me in

and cops are fucking insane... do they have rocket engines? wtf is the deal with that...

seems ok for first impressions, i gamed a few hours... again, 2 dark... nighttime gettin annoying, and car handling sucks like it did in MW... wish they would bring the NFSU2 handling back... menu n shit is again a bit annoying like the last...

typical EA... some improvements over the last game, yet, they didnt include the things that made the last games better... fix-n-fuckup modathon... Blah!

To resolve the DX 0 issue i installed dx directly from the gamedisk and then changed compatibility to win2k of the setup.exe, and now it seems to work!

bah.. they didn't remove the goddamn catch-up thingy. I mean, there's no fucking way a VW Golf can keep up with a Lamborghini, not even by a fucking long shot. This game is ridiculous

I have the following problem.

When I start the game, I only get a black screen and I need to reboot the PC. I had the same problem with the demo of this game.

My PC:
ATI Radeon 9700
P4, 3.2Ghz
SP2 installed
1Gig RAM

Help please!!??

i have one ANNOYING issue...when i play the game,it randomly goes to desktop but the game doesn't gets closed but gets paused,so i can resume the game after..

is there a solution for this?

there won't be any patch that will fix grafical issues,ea simply don't do that,maybe some small lame useless patch for on-line but thats it
don't get your hopes ppl it's ea we talkin about Wink
every year there fan-made patches for saves,language selction & who knows what else
if it wasn't for fans we probably wouldn't saw any of this
i wish someone droped laser guided missile on ea office so they wouldn't rebuild Evil or Very Mad
