This has to be the most impressive pc racing game
the models, engine sounds are very impressive and i bet the gameplay is just as good.
i want to buy this game n0w! hurry up ATARI and ship it out Smile

the videos are appreciated but are to much of a tease.
i want to beable to play it n0t just look at it Very Happy

i guess i will just have to patiently wait untill it's shipped and
available in the store. that day will come eventually.

I always was a fps gamer ever since like rogue spear
but since i played GTR2 with my momo wheel i have enjoyed racing aswell.
the only problem is that i was limited to a few friends to play it with on
hamatchi.

TDU really is going to be something with such a large racing area, selection of vehicles and players.

MOMO steering wheel here.... it handles like i imagined very realistc....and when u do a u turn in 100 km/h(60mph) u hear a veeeery realistic tire squril just like in getaway in stockholm movies.....love the game the cars actually is like in IRL koningsegg CCS8 is like a beast in the game turn of driving AID and it will kill u soon as you hear the turbo kick in whick is 5000 RPM Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

I've clocked up quite a few hours on this now and I think it's the game that NFS: Most Wanted should have been. I love it, quite realistic but not too much so. You can wind up to 150mph on the dual carriageways through honolulu but when the city ends you better hit the brakes cos you aint gonna get through the interchange at that speed!

You can escape from the police at 100mph or less, but even at that speed it's easy to hit a bump and end up in a ditch. No NFS:MW 200mph chases through twisty back-roads here. no ramming your way through road-blocks, you must go around them. The cars feel a little bit spongey which is kinda like my real car but my real car is fucking shite so not sure how realistic that is (ford escort 1.6i). the supercars do feel tighter. i have never rolled a car in TDU, anybody else notice that??

Only a few problems, many publishers would have pushed this out before xmas. eg. if i alter any gfx settings, frame rate goes to pot and i need to restart to get it back together. there seems to be a memory leak because it gets quite slow after playing for an hour or two. i hope the game can be optimised further, because my pc can't really handle it that well.

oh biggest problem, the police don't care when i rip past them at 140mph on the wrong side of the road. i hope that gets fixed. when they see me coming in the rear-view mirror they actually get out of my way so i don't need to slow down Smile

AthlonXP 3000+, 1GB RAM, 6600GT (128MB). Nothing special so imo the performance is good.

It probably gets about 20fps at 1152x768 with the settings on high, that's with radial blur, full shadows etc. No AA. I play from the cockpit view, it's smoother from outside.


edit: for reference, I get about the same performance in NFS:MW (no cockpit there!) and worse performance in NFS:Carbon..... Wink

looks good to me... maybe your monitor is fucked up (old CRT lose their brightness) or you have fucked up codecs.

Video is dark, compared to others. And, it's kind a low fps, very low, makes it hard to watch.

Its a known issue with the latest patch they had, it made everything darker.

Just decided that won't look any more videos before demo or open beta, 1,22GB of them on hard drive, won't be much left to see Very Happy

ty Xquizette for the AA video (looked good). Did notice the low fps too, but propably because of the high quality video capture, seemed like HD was doing a lot of work. Were you on pad? Maybe drop sensitivity a notch or too, looked like it caused you trouble Wink

Im using the logitech G25 wheel, 6 speed shifter Very Happy

I have to say it handles awesome, i prefer driving all the cars with no first aid, making it very exciting heading into those turns doing 140+ Razz

Im still in love with the damn z06 Corvette, and the new shelby... My 2 favorites, just love the way they handle, and the sound!

BrokenCrow: if you mean the computer specs signatures it's not just for bragging, but really usefull when someone says "yeah it runs sweet!" or "crappy engine, jerks whole the time" or someone has a problem with some game. You kinda know straight away where the problem lies and no need to ask computer specs, which adds 2 more posts.

If it was ment for zyrohex's post about his wheel (and pretty awesome comp specs) didn't seem like he was bragging, just exited about how good the game feels. Seeing how top gear & fifth gear said that Z06 is the first American car that handels great and he says the same while using a great wheel, you know it's a realistic game.
