Oh why Sony why did you fuck up the d-pad on the PSP? Is it me or the d-pad on the PSP is too big (e.g. there's a big gap between the left and the down directional buttons) It just ruins so many of the great games for me. For example, playing PES on PSP is really difficult due to the d-pad which makes it very hard to control the player and aim when passing/shooting. Just compere it to the DS's d-pad or the official ps2 contoller and you'll see the difference. I hope they'll bring out PSP v2.0 or something with more ergonomic controls. Also do you think Sony could have squeezed in another anolog stick if they wanted? I mean they got this fantastic device but why not take it a bit more furthere and make it perfect for todays gaming standards. The power of the PSP is useless without the good controls, else we can play all the puzzle games and mini games elsewhere (DS). I believe the PSP is aimed at the hardcore gamers (e.g. GTA stories series, MGS:PO etc.) who wants to play their favorite games on the go. What do you guys think huh?

I don't like placement, size, feel of both the dpad and the "joystick" or whatever you call it. But whatcha' gonna' do, gott'a use 'em... :\

But it's so sad if you think about the PSP and how awesome it is. It's such a dissapointment as I was looking forward to playing PES at uni, I must say I'm dissapointed. It's like a Ferrari with crap steering wheel.

Some games like XMen 2 Legends the controls are okay - others like FF7 the DPad does suck a bit. Just have to get used to them or alter button settings where possible - maybe there's a hardware 'mod' for replacing dpad, etc ? You wanted a Miracle, I give you the F. B. Eye !!

Never heard of such a thing as hardware mod but i'd love to replace the current dpad with a better one hmmmmm

if the current dpad has like 4 micro-switches under it then you should be able to install a more compact dpad - probably need to cut the psp case to, though once you dissamble it. You wanted a Miracle, I give you the F. B. Eye !!
