Unfortunately I believe my Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 930SB may be dying in a similar manner to your monitor. I recently have noticed that my monitor has begun to occasionally shrink slightly in the vertical orientation and then resize to its original dimension, and I see a white horizontal line that dances above and below the lower aperture grille wire on the display.
Although I have no answer for you, I too would like any input into both of our situations.
It started doing it one day and it got worse as time progressed so i decided to buy an LCD (Samsung 940BW) to replace it.So why this post then you ask ? Simply because i would like to see if someone here can tell me exactly what is the problem (based on the description in the quote above) and if it's fixable at low cost.My warranty is expired and shipping it to NEC/Mitsu is not really an option since the monitor weight 70lbs and it would cost me quite a bit to do so.
That was the best monitor i ever owned and it would definitiely be worth it if i could save it for 50 $ or less. . Dual monitors and i would be able to play BF2 once again (doesn't work on my widescreen monitor with the shortcut trick).
well this wont help your other monitor but reguarding widescreen, alot of games you can configure files in your install folder and customize the settings yourself. Heres some stuff on that BF2 for widescreen.
