|
 |
In their story about today's acquisition of Ritual Entertainment by MumboJumbo GameDaily added some post-announcement quotes from MumboJumbo CEO Mark Cottam. They probed about the future of SiN Episodes with more success than our own contact with Ritual, learning that the plan here is for Ritual to get more casual, rather than for MJ to go mainstream. Therefore, there are no plans at this time to continue the episodic Sin sequel, which saw the release of only one of its planned nine installments:
"The idea of acquiring Ritual was to have them strengthen our development in the casual genre and not to have them involved at all in the action style games," Cottam explained. "If there's an opportunity to have them do something on the SiN episodes, we would look at that, but that will not be the focus of the company. The combined companies will focus exclusively on casual, unless opportunities present themselves that we think are strategic from a business standpoint... Again, I wouldn't close the door on [traditional games] but that's not the primary focus."
ffs.

just a question, what the hell are "casual games"? Am I correct in interpreting that as "shit games"?

MumboJumo makes puzzle games, that sort of shit. They were also behind the weak Myth 3: The Wolf Age, anyone remember that?
Epsilon: Game is great btw, I love it, so far it's a definite goty. It's remarkable how much has changed since the beta, stardock have been working their asses off, and it shows.

Myth 3 ruled! Still I dont know what to expect of this... Maybe they should just drop the expected 9 episodes and cut it all down to a true sequel.

well, i think some titles in the "contributed to" category below were good to awesome, as well as HM Fakk2 (they never made a sequel to that either though, as the storyline wasnt finished) and ST Elite Force II. The original SiN was cool too, although buggy / running badly on my system back then...

Fuck,.. I liked episode 1.. not much guns but as a whole it was great single player experience. They cancel that to make more crappy games and they admit it?!? wtf..
