i remember playing a resident evil game as a kid on nintendo64
scared the shit out of me to play it, these games by capcom are successful
at creating a spooky atmosphere that's for sure!

I always play 3rd person action games with a gamepad.Sure aiming may be easier and faster with a mouse but everything else is smoother with a gamepad , especially when it's a console port (see DMC3 , Omnimusha , Silent Hill series).Movement in particular is more precise with an analog stick then with WASD in these type of games imho.Also , there is an auto targetting system in most of these games (a la GTA) and it makes aiming with a pad easier.
I haven't played RE4 but from what i have heard the targetting system is quite well developped.It should be interesting to see how it translate to PC.

The game was balanced with gamepad in mind, and all that comes with it. Like slow moving monster and stuff like that. Mouse (and therefore the ability to, at least, aim faster) would have made the game to easy, and therefore would have required rebalancing the whole game.

I was waiting for this and didn't play the PS2 version because I want to use the mouse + better graphics, and now there is now mouse support(??!!), no AA, AF??!!! Then why the fuck did it take them so long to port this game??
