NP , what modchip are you using , I'v heard that if you are using the matrix chip that you are able to update the firmware to get those dvd-rw's to work , just a rumor (or not) =)
I'm using the messiah 2 chip , and you can't upgrade that.
(Offtopic -> )Allso there is a problem in messiah chip if you are using the component input , you have to disable the green screen fix wire to get it work properly.

Are you using the component cable to connect your ps2 to tv ?

Or the regular scart thing that came with the console ?

Yeah , that is why you don't have any problems , it's only component (RGB) cable that has problems . . Much better picture with component . . .

Green screen fix is for PAL scart RGB cable when playing DVDs. Sony's idiotic designs meant that tens of millions of PAL users who bought the best possible cable to use with their PS2 got a green tinted screen with DVD movies. Better yet, people who modded their consoles could have it fixed 100%. Now thats classic.

PAL games run 50hz while NTSC run 60hz, but in turn PAL has 100 lines more vertical height (aka resolution).. but with consoles the benefits arent always as obvious (due to the native res the game is actually running at), but with DVD's the benefits of the res is obvious in addition to 25fps progressive film (increase 24fps by 1fps = superb).
