With all the new tech out and the rapid advanes in game engines, it makes me wonder if they will switch to the CryEngine2 engine or whatnot, therefore delaying the game until 2010 when CryEngine or U4 Engine comes out.. then another switch.. it's what this has been.. a series of perpetual delays. I'm suprised someone @ 3Drealms hasn't leaked something by now about what they're doing and how things are shaping up.

They should have developed their own engine in the first place. They know the game sucks that they have right now and they know it will meet the destiny of Prey. At least they could be recorded in the guiness records book.

Finally on track?? Smile

We screwed up Duke Nukem, game maker admits:

Scotty reckons it's all down to the fact the firm wanted to make the best game ever.

"We fully admit we’re screwed up the development of DNF, and it’s now an industry joke. He said. "I laugh (and cry) when I think about it, too," he burbled into an email.

"Our fault is that we set the bar too high, and we tried too hard to make the game to beat all games. In the last 18 months we’ve taken a much more realistic look at the project, we’ve hired a truckload of experienced help, and I personally believe we are now on the right track…finally."

If they make it, and its as witty as DN3D with a better engine and fun content, it'll be amazing.

If they lose any of that, it wont be worth playing.

well well...stalker story ,started 5-6 years ago and...look what come out.

guys from stalker ,also wanted to make the best games ever, and the one who started with the fire was valve with half life and half life 2...the mother and father of the fps games lol...well.till now-half life 2 - was the winner altough, it was still kinda disapointment.

you know what.? - games are like movies and books, how many good but really good movies and books did you see/ read? from all the books and the movies - you saw-you can count very few and marked them as a really goodies. the same i guess with games..not too mutch great games are out there from all the huge list of games.

developers should be more creative and less money makers and less competetive and we may see very nice games coming-after all, games are kind of art, and great art work, is art work from the heart and not from the fame and pocket

6 years vs. 10+, hmmm.... (also, 3DRealms have said jack shit about what kind of game we can expect, IF it is ever released) Rolling Eyes

Wolfenstein 3D or Doom is the mother and father and grandaddy of FPS! HL2, winner? It was just another linear shooter. At least STALKER tries to change that.

John Romero told me himself during an interview I had with him last summer that this game "still" has some features we have never seen in a game and that he has indeed played it. Could this be the cloth physics? Possibly.. I still have hopes. I enjoyed Prey and I am enjoying STALKER right now (except when it crashes after key moments)

Ask John Titor next time he is online, maybe he can give a review.

John Romero HAhahahahhaha!!!! Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

Cloth physics? I am pretty sure there is one or two games that have it already? But it wouldn't be revolutionary for two cents.

i don't think that half life 2 , is the first and best fps ever came, its just what the developer said about it during the development, and because of that, the expectations from the final product became high.
