Maybe they downsampled the movies to make it fit on a DVD5...

No, the Original is DVD5, i have it here in my hands Smile The producers said that before they didn´t know if it would fit onto a DVD5 when it was in the planning stages for new dungeons and such.

There's something wrong with this release. The retail version is a DVD9! It seems Protocol screwed up again and only ripped the first layer. It isn't very surprising, they are pretty unreliable. They did the same shit with ATV Offroad Fury 4. Rolling Eyes

No, it is not, i tried ripping the original Disc (which is DVD5) in DVD Decrypter and it´s the exact same size as this release.

The version in the shops is dual layer - end of story. hell, check the manual as well, but the retail version has PDDL stamped on the inner ring on the disc. That means it's dual layer as opposed to PDDS which is single layer.

I'd hazard a guess that half way through the game there will be some very unhappy pirates out there!

100%. Just dumps to a black screen at the end of chapter 7. As this is a dvd9 retail. That means that only the first layer was ripped.

Squirrely: Now come on y'all. We can't waste time arguing. There could still be survivors out there. We need to hunt them down, and kill them.
Beary: How about we kill them, and then rape their bodies so we can use their blood as lubricant.

Yes I've seen it confirmed on several sites now. Kind of obvious this was going to happen. Hopefully some group can rip a full version.

Does the DVD9 START2 rls need patching with Toxic's DL patcher or even a dl disk?
NFO makes no mention whether it even needs a dl disk, just that they ripped the second layer...

Yes dl disk is needed, I patched it with Toxic's patcher myself, Then burned it with imageburn to ridata dl+ disk, I got an error when i started to burn it with imageburn, Something like wrong UDF or something like that and would it like it to correct it, I pressed no, Burn finished, Just tried it on my ps2 with messiah 2 modchip which is some years old and works fine.

EDIT: The game unpacked is 6.48GB in size 6,804,416KB
