you get a message saying the license is going to run out in 3 days so i guess everyone has to buy the game then.
i think i will buy this one , its alot of fun if you only play for an hour or so at a time and it is a step in the right direction for pc racing games even if it is only a port.

With CRT I see games in a real 32 bit colors, they look awesome in every res, it's a real 4:3 format, not some stretched bullshit (yes every LCD monitor is fucking stretched, even WS ones, 1280x1024 is not 4:3 and 1680x1050 is not 16:9). I play games the way they were meant to be played and am not locked to one single resolution choice like some idiot. |
What's up with your indirect insults? Your either too cheap to afford a LCD or you have no idea what your talking about. LCD technology has advanced a long way from when you saw that gateway monitor in a PC shop 4 years ago. Yes, they do not match a CRT 100% yet but the difference is becoming difficult to percieve. If you truly thing LCD"s are pathetic for gaming your sitting in front of the internet, go do some research because you obviously are clueless or extremely biased. I really wish you could play a game on my monitor to understand.
And I'm not advocating it because of the obvious reasons (Weight, Size, Efficiency) My brother uses a CRT right next to me! Notice about EVERY hardware review site does their benchmarks on LCD's? This isn't half a decade ago when the technology was first becoming mainstream and the image quality difference between the two was astounding, sites now a days use "gaming LCD's" as part of their reviews for a reason.
That's the second time you've come to me with some condecending bullshit, so either shut your fucking mouth or make it clear your post is a opinion rather then I'm king of the world this is how it goes.

i had this bug, buy another car from trade and exit the garage in that car, should be ok then u can sell the car |
Thank's for the tip Gazc156, but I bought about 6 cars and tried leaving the house with them and I'm still stuck at "Saving Game..."
Thank's again, I'm gonna try and figure out what's causing this so I can try Hardcore mode and create roadblocks with Dazz.

Given that the message is shown as part of the game's "protection system", I guess that we shall not be able to even launch the game past February 4th.
Weird thing is, I didn't get the message until my system's date was pointing to February 1st. Could it be that easy to override?

That's exactly what's happening to me right now! I've tried reloading it a dozen times.

Honestly, I think we can continue playing the game in offline mode. Because the game wasn't programmed/compiled to work until 4th February.
Just will not work in online mod, IMHO.

Hi, on the subject of LCD vs CRT I have one thing to say; the quality difference is OBVIOUS but only to people who haven't made the transition to LCD. It takes time for your eyes to adjust and accept LCD's when you switch. Eventually you won't care but the first few months were HELL for me and whilst I can sit here and say LCD is great and all that, I can also remember my experience with CRT and the switch to LCD.
I also fucking hate dead pixels.

I posted an offline method that worked for closed beta many pages back, hopefully it will work for open beta too I don't see why it wouldn't anyway as follows: go into your my documents folder > tdu > savegame > playername > delete the commondt.sav files from your playersave dir's and try again should work fine.
edit* What that does is make your profile offline and not connect to atari servers, Like I said above I don't gurantee this will work once open beta ends but it's worth a shot.

I have yet to see any LCD monitor (and yes that include those popular Dell 2407WFP and NEC GX2) match the quality of my old and now defunct 19" Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 930SB CRT monitor and i'm saying that as an LCD owner (940BW).I'm actually trying to get it repaired since i miss it so much.I have no problems with gaming on my 940BW and it does look good but everything was more crisp and vivid on my 930sb.
Maybe the next generation of LCD (rumored to have a 120hz refresh rate and a16 bit panel) will match the quality of the best CRT monitors out there but they are not there yet. |
Refresh rates do not matter for LCD's. Please have some sort of education in what you are talking about before spouting random bullshit. Ask any photographer, or any professional gaming review site what they would rather have. The answer will always be a nice widescreen LCD. |
Quote: | Today's LCD flat panels are already obsolete
CES 007 Hold your horses
By Burt Carver: Thursday 11 January 2007, 09:27
ONE OF THE overriding themes at CES has been the dramatic improvements in LCD panel technology.
Every major manufacturer has introduced a 120Hz model, along with claimed improvements in contrast, colour reproduction, and noise reduction. Each of these innovations is striking, but when combined in one year they make for a dramatic change in the performance of LCD panels.
The 120Hz overscan virtually eliminates the motion blurring that occured on 60Hz LCD models. In scenarios where the content is panning there is a dramatic benefit from having the additional frame generated.
Colour reproduction has increased from 8 bit to anywhere from 10 bit to 14 bit. One of the key criticisms of LCD panels has been the reduced colour gamut that they could display.
Finally, improvements in handling noisy source content have completed the trifecta for most manufacturers. Where does this leave the millions of people out there who have purchased a flat panel LCD? The gradual improvements that occured in tube technology meant that CRT televisions had a reasonable shelf life. With the rapid advances in LCD panels, much like the desktop industry, the panel you bought yesterday is rendered obsolete today.
For those people interested in acquiring a flat panel LCD, the technology announced at CES will be filtering into retail over the next six months. Waiting a bit for this technology will is a great idea. Until the same thing happens next year at CES. |
You were saying ?

To those who think the handling is shit, increase the Steering Bar Sensitivity to maximum and see how that feels.
