For all the people looking to simulate hockey and get away from the arcade versions. Maybe you should delete the game off your computer and simlulate a lockout!?!?

the nhl series have always been an arcade game and not a simulator so how anyone can even think for a second that this would be a simulator is way beyond me.

go to your local hockey rink if you want the real thing and stay away from any future nhl games in the nhl series Smile

Yeah, I agree. NHL is meant to be arcade. When I want a simulation, I strap on my skates and play rec hockey.

I love NHL2005 just because of the stuff TheDamned hates. I'm not a hockey player myself, but I love the game when it is damn fast and furious. Reason why I have game speed, aggression, hitting power on highest and hitting difficulty on lowest. Wink

Dude.. I've played NHL series here more than anyone.. NHL 2005 is the worst NHL game by Ea Sports ever.. Alex Dampier hockey even feels good compared to this bad console port.. If you dont know.. Alex Dampier is a about 10 year old "hockey" game

Bleh

I played high level compeition hockey for 15years and been playing NHL since NHL93... I know how that shit works and NHL 2005 is fucking way too fast and too many big hits, even with tweaked AI it's still too fast. Hope somebody will edit the db.viv or something to make the game slower and less huge hits

You're a fuckin idiot. If you search around theres people who have ended these problems.. YOU DONT JUST GOTO PLAY NOW AND SAY THE GAME SUCKS.. i have slowed the game down ALOT from how it was.. and i average around 20 - 30 hits a game.. WHICH IS NORMAL. I play on difficult and win and loose games at scores around 2 - 1 etc.

Dont say a game sucks when you dont konw how to play.

Good game. I'm not a sport games fan but this is cool. It likes me since the '99 version.

i never played that no. it went by me.
i think this game is really good and i have played hockey games (especially the nhl series) for the past 20years so you can say im a hockey game vet Wink
i must admit though that i play the game on my ps2 but its still the same game as long as you dont use the keyboard on the pc because using a keyboard in this game must really blow. maybe you do that? Laughing

the game blows because it's a straight console port... arcade crap..

Someone already has modified the db.viv to slow the game down .. makes a big difference imo.

check cyber-nhl.net for it...

NHL 2004 with tweaked AI was WICKED simulator.

I'm in about 6 top-notch online leagues (TNHL,ASHL,ESL,PHL,etc) and our seasons ended with very realistic points\GF\GA etc... It was awesome.

the others are exactly the same (not direct ports but same in gameplay) so again, why did you bother? you shuld know how this series is if you have played more than anyone here, no? Smile

thedamned: i dont agree on that. i guess people have different views on what a simulator is.

lol great stuff. i like it.

i think '05 is better than last year. if you think the game is going to fast you can adjust the setting. unlike last year which was WAY too slow and there was almost NO big hits and even with the changed settings it didnt do anything.

BUT the keyboard config kind of suck since i can't config the space bar, CTRL, shift like all the past versions.

btw where is the create a skater feature ? i can't find it anywhere lol.

But you can config the spacebar, it'll just look like there's no key there.
I think they made it so you can't config ctrl+shift because of sticky keys...

You can't create a player in the game, but you can use nhlview to create one Smile

I rule at this game, its too easy... If you think its boring you havent tried setting up a 12 player season with your friends and play like crazy.

You use a keyboard to play this game???? Are you stupid? Or maybe you can't afford the 20 bucks for a dual analog cantroller ...

sorry about that ... I'm over pissed off from some jackass named LeopardO in the world discussions forum. He wouldn't like this game anyways. He sucks cock for rock.
