Whaaat? I liked CoH, TDU, R6V... Well, that's it for now.
Don't blame me, though... So much crap is being released these days! And even if I was to hate everything, I should be able to post whatever I want without Epsilon (or you) censoring me.
And anger is my middle name. Just because I answer politely on some of the questions in the Vista thread (or some of the PMs I get), doesn't mean I don't get angery at them too.

Well I agree with Inatan there, why would only people who like the game post in this thread? If Epsilon wants to be in a thread full of fanboys and hear nothing but praise for the game so be it but I enjoy reading any kind of comment (positive or negative).

Yes so I didn't become vip because of that as I have not yet reached that mark

its safe to agree that commander and conquer redefined the rts norm. its not olbivion graphics, but we actually can see many units fighting and enjoy it. unfortunately unlike SC.
In SC its impossible to see the details of your units and enemy units participating to a battle. the zoom is a failure in that aspect. if you zoom to see detail, you miss the action. if you zoom out, you get the action but with blocky unit graphics. BAD!

Press ALT + UP ARROW KEY and you can get a better, more traditional sidebar instead. It still takes up a lot of screen but it is less jarring in my opinion.

Well, I had something cool, but kind of pissed me off happen LOL! I was playing last night and I was turtling BIG TIME! I created the experimental units Monkey Lord and the Flying Beast (Damn, cannot remember the name again! LOL!). I put the Monkey Lord at the bottom of the island closing it off to the enemy. I put the Flying Beast at the top. They started to attack me with there walkers in the north section of the map. I sent in the Flying Beast and he destroyed their walkers in glorious graphically impressive explosions. Not to mention the phenomenal sound effects!! Wow, the graphics and sound are just unreal!
Now the thing that upset me......I took the Flying Beast and inched my way into the outer base of the enemy destroying everything! I inched a little further and started getting pummeled by anti-air fire. I started to destroy the anti-air emplacements but my Flying Beast was at half health so I started to pull him out of the battle. I zoomed out and zoomed in on my Gunships. I sent them to assist along with some workers to repair the Flying Beast. I know you can control - 1 to set your Gunships on the 1 key but had not done that yet. When I zoomed back to my Flying Beast I saw this HUGE explosion as my retreating Flying Beast destroyed what looked like a Power Reactor. This explosion started a chain reaction that destroyed all small Power Reactors. At that point I was like WOA!!!!! But then it happened.....a small nuclear explosion sprung out of no where. Then the Victory message appeared! Uhhhgggg, I had destroyed the enemies Commander out of blind luck. I was turtling and trying to build this awesome society and I destroyed the Commander! It was a chain reaction explosion that hit the Commander as he stood by one of the Power Reactors. This sucked big time as I lost all that I had built due to the game ending. I had the game in hand and would have won because I had prepared for the enemies experimental units. But......just imagine if it was a stalemate and we were exchanging blows! What a cool way to tip the scales. It was cool, I just didn't want my game to end at that point. The moral of the story is, keep your Supreme Commander away from anything that can blow up! LOL!

I usually play against a MEDIUM AI now.. working up to HARD AI now and I find it easy to take over all the main island + the 2 smaller islands and just hold the AI to his own. I usually build a whole lot of Tier1 subs to screw him over then have minor defenses in the mid section of the map building up to Tier3 goodies until the Tier3 battleships (man are they incredible) and then the Fixed Heavy Artillery Building (too bad a*s!!) then Nukes (gawd like!!).
I don't even need experimental units to win. I totally forgot that secondary commanders have access to em due to upgrades. Ugh! So yep.. love this game.. just insane destruction with a decent AI. The mod community alone for SC will make this VERY WORTHY TA successor a PC classic!

Play SC @ 1600x1200 and tell me the Hud is too big?!? Then again.. this "next-gen" RTS ain't meant for slow machines. Just the price of progress.
Regardless, the devs mentioned they are gonna reduce the Hud for the release or in a patch afterwards. Further, someone will mod the hud to be 2x as small and likey 2x as informative at the same time.

yeah the hud is way too big, especially at lower res. you need to play at 1280x1024 or bigger to see more of the game.

This game is a garbage, ridiculously over hyped by a bunch of muppet fan boys.

Why would I play it at that resolution? There's no tangible image quality benefit.
Even at 1280x1024 the HUD is ridiculously large.
That means they've made a mistake and forgotten that half, if not three quarters of their intended audience will have enough trouble to be able to reach that resolution let alone any higher.

Actually, it's very abnormal. It serves precisely the same function as other game huds but takes up at least three, maybe four times as much dead space (and even more if you consider the popups). Of course you can manage with it, but that doesn't alter the fact it's too large and a hindrance.

the devs will resize the hud, not that it matters.. i dont even see it as very big anymore
i only care about balance and gameplay.
