Bulldog are a good service but have the worst customer service and track record of over charging and generally cocking up money stuff (eg. stealing large sums from you).. I've never had a major issue in 2 years, but a friend of mine has.. that could of just been his own fuck up though.

i have NTL i havent noticed it being slow, other than the usual random 404s every now and then.
NTL is good, free newgroups.
i love the irony of DLin warez from my own ISPs high speed servers!

not possible on a 10mb connection
10MB = 1.25 Mb/s
the only way you can get 1.6mb/s is if telewest somehow fucked up and your connection is actually 12.8MB
you got any idea what your max upload speed is? should be 45kb/s max give or take a couple kb/s

yah, or incorrect speed reporting by whatever software you use. 1.2m/sec is fastest. When they were doing the 20mbit trial I got 2.4m/bit. Nice!

Possible incorrect speed reporting by the software then.

at peak times i seem to have the rare occurence of some websites not wanting to load.
wtf are they doing? my connection has always been superb with only 3 problems in the 6 or so years ive had blueyonder and they were hardware faults outside.

There's been some serious issues with the network, check out cableforum.co.uk for more. Basically they've expanded too quickly or are incorrectly applying traffic shaping. My connection was pretty much like 56k at prime time, until a month ago or so.

Ive noticed single connections to their news-server aint as fast as it used to be.
Some of their cache servers are offline too.

NTL were using traffic shaping long before they joined with Virgin, so don't blame Virgin. OP NTL have been traffic shaping P2P traffic for a while now at peak times
