This is not arcade-"realism", this is a simulation.
Did you know that if someone shoots you with a high powered rifle in real life, you're likely to be severely injured (to the point where you no longer will function properly) or die?
Yes, this is what happens in this game, should you get shot.

There were cheats in the 1.0 and probably the 1.01 version of ArmA but if I remember the changelog correctly most of them were removed in the 1.02 patch.
(Shift key together with Numpad minus key while typing LIFE activated godmode but as I said this was removed in one of the patches)

heh there are cheats but not very useful... press ingame shift+minus(-) at the same time and type endmission. Well it ends the mission but it probably doesnt work with the champaign

It's the same like in OFP: shift+minus(-) and type endmission (end mission, single player or campaign missions) or shift+minus(-) and type campaign (it will list all missions of campaign you are playing) ,and there was life cheat also but as stated above it's disabled now.

Why do they care so much if we want to cheat??? A game is supposed to be fun, and saving and reloading every 30 seconds for 2 hours to finally complete the mission is not really fun...

no shit...same as operation flashpoint..they are simulators,(NOT run 'n' gun games like half life 2,BF2),they rely on realism
when there is no more room in hell, the D34D will walk the earth

Just a comment about sniper firing, and to add to the comment about realism.
The bullets travel, rather than simultaneously impact upon firing.
If you're firing at the head, then it better be stationery target, otherwise you're going to need to fire the bullet where you think the target will be when the bullet impacts. Otherwise you'll miss and it'll seem like the wind is pushing it or something.
I dropped at guy at 900 metres with the 50 cal sniper rifle. Probably took almost 2 full seconds to hit him in the head. Thankfully he wasn't moving.

Lol no shit. Operation Flashpoint was good at the time but this game just failed somehow.
They've improved the GFX since operation flashpoint and have not improved the framerate one bit. It's still laggy as hell and they have not improved the controls at all.
I was really dissapointed in this game, it could have been one of the greatest war simulators out there...
Still, the game is pretty cool in cooperative mode though...

next time spent your money to a charity foundation instead of wasting thousands of dollars for a quad-core cpu rig which will not even supported by 1% of all pc games in the next 2 years.
