mine is 1st batch, it's on the horizontal, with a PS2 on the top and the warmer of the house at 1 or 2 feet....
zero problems!
I have lots of friends with 360s and no one had any problem.

I can't believe that I actually agree with Crash, but I too would wait a few months and get a PS3 ... The X-Box 360 (which I have by the way) is just like the X-box. with many many FPS games and hardly any RPGS, in fact there is only 1 true RPG out at the moment and 1 in the pipelines ..... The X-Box is just like a Pc, where FPS are king,so if you like FPS get a X-box 360 if you like Rpg and original Japanese games wait for the PS3.
Most games will be Multi-Platform anyway but the best exclusives will be on the PS3, and I'm not talking about the big budget exclusives, but smaller games like Okami, Rogue Galaxy, and nemurous Jap Rpg's that would bnever had made it to the X-Box or 360
Also remember this is a very X-box 360 dominated forum, not quite Microsoft fan boys but very damn close

I have 23 Xbox 360 games and only 4 of them are a FPS.

5) Enchanted Arms
6) Bioshock (shooter elements yes... but at its core it is an RPG system so say the descriptions)
7) Elveon
 Warhammer Online
9) Fable 2
10) Lost Odyssey
so... theres 10 that you didnt mention. Luckliy for me, I never have cared for Jappaneese RPG games. In fact, I pretty much loath them.
Course... guess it all comes down to what you consider an RPG to be as well... those all fit my RPG definitions and the articles about them call them RPG/ Action RPG games.
I have a ton of XBOX 360 games... few of them are FPS's.

I much prefer western RPG's too, although there have been some jap RPG's that i've really enjoyed. For me the 360 provides exactly the type of games I want to play on my console, the only thing that bothers me is it's reliability, although it isn't a major issue, as i've already said.
I shouldn't have to buy a cooling system so that my console lasts longer then a few months at a time.

2) Two Worlds (Oblivion rip off, a PC game, boring as hell)
3) Blue Dragon (looks great)
4) The Precursors (never hear of it, looked it up and it said it was a FPS with Rpg elements, so in other words another FPS)
5) Enchanted Arms (shit)
6) Bioshock (FPS with Rpg elements, levelling up, doesn't make a Rpg)
7) Elveon (Oblivion rip off again)
8 ) Warhammer (MMORPG, boring)
9) Fable 2 (If anything like Fable 1, will be bad)
10) Lost Odyssey (Looks good, but won't be coming here for a year at least)
What I'm saying is if you got a decent PC, you can play all these games on that .... Ps3 hopefully will have more unique Japanese themed games.

About the overheating thing, I live in Thailand where the weather is either hot or very hot, and to tell you the truth I've been shitting myself about the X-Box 360 over heating.
I bought a cheap little Fan that plugs into the USB and that seems ok, I've now got it standing and hopefully that will keep it cooler.

wtf !!! Where was I bragging how cool the Ps3 is ... I haven't said the word cool since I was 13, And where did I even mention anything to do with original concepts ?!?! I was talking about mainly Jap Rpgs which are no where near original, they nearly all have the same kind of story .....
The original poster asked which was better and wanted opinions, I gave my opinion ... Because you don't agree that's not my problem ...
This forum is slightly biased to the X-Box 360 & X-Box has been for the couple of years I've been here, nothing wrong with that, but I just stated that so the original poster can have an idea of how to take all these opinions.
