why...with just one supreme AI and 10km map, the game still slows down after a while like the beta...anyone got a clue?

I've seen a few reviews that have run this crap with C2D and 8800 and still have hickups here and there.

The more units on the map, the more resources are needed, hence the slowdown. Too bad it's like that...

Okay stop the vista hate. You dont even know what you are talking about, you prolly never even tried vista.
Runs absolutely fine here, smooth as butter even with 8 players.
Btw, how do you patch to the newest patch that removes the protection, if you dont have a cdkey to connect to gpg net? =D
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 RAM: 4gb Kingmax DDR2 800mhz Video: Asus GeForce 250GTS 1gb Sound: Asus Xonar.

I agree with Baleur. It works perfectly fine on Windows Vista and if you didn't read up, the game has been coded with Windows Vista in consideration so it's 100% compatible.
I don't understand all this anti-vista hype...

Every single one of my games work on vista. Very, very playable. I dont miss XP one bit what so ever.
Now, to SupCom, where to download the latest patch if not from gpgnet? Some crappy rapidshare link?

for everyone who experiences massive slowdowns, try reducing sound acceleration to basic, and/or reduce the speaker setup from surround (if you use that) to headphones.
I asked a while ago if my PC really sucks that much because the game kept becoming unplayable really fast.
Someone said, yeah it does suck that much, well, turns out he was wrong and the game has some serious sound issues.
I get about twice the FPS and the perftest runs absolutely fluid on max details when I use /nosound while I experience massive slowdowns and it goes down to as little as 1 or 2 FPS during some of the larger battles with sound on.
Those slowdowns are a lot less bad with sound changed from surround to headphones so it's worth a try.
I do realize that sound processing requires processing power, however a sound card is there to handle that kind of stuff and take the workload off the CPU while providing better sound quality so that's really a bad argument.
I hope that in a future patch there will be some more sound options at least so you can like set the maximum simultaneous soundfx to 64 or whatever, just something that prevets this from happening.

Yeah, with sound turned off and with the lowest setting possible I can run the game quite acceptable on my good ol' 3200+, 9800pro 128MB, 1024MB mem computer! ;D
don't copy that floppy

I'm having quite fun with this game so far =)
Unfortunatly it crashes way too ofter for my taste ( core duo, 7800 gt, 1 gb ram , XP sp2 , build 3220) .
Play multiplayer is impossible with crashes in the middle of every game (and it's very hard to find someone in hamachi) , so.. here is the question
I remember in beta the ai was very hard to beat , it seems now play in skirmish even against 2 ai on supreme is way too easy
Any mod to tweak the ai to play more aggressively or more beta-like ?
Thanks!
