The.Sims.2.DVD.Clone-CLONECD is out, haven't seen it anywhere listed, other than on very few sites. but here's an excerpt from the NFO
█ 1 Unpack it.

█ 2 Burn it with CloneCD v.5.0.2.2 (or newer), profile: DVD,
█ speed: 1x
█
█ 3 Make sure you check "Hide CDR Media" from the CloneCD Tray.
█
█ 4 Install the game with serial XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX
█
█ 5 Play and Enjoy!

yeah, but we can´t correctly burn alcohol cd-version as well...
i mean, i can burn normally this one and it´ll work perfectly???

As they say that the new clonecd should burn the safedisc 3.2 protected CDs and DVDs, I'm really interested if it's true and if someone has already burned this DVD and can proove it...

I burned it with the info they gave in nfo and it didnt work I had to use the starfuckers crack

Me I've the Alcohol 120% version and it works without crack ( I don't know if you can build you house without problem cause I didn't have played so much).

In Europe Sims 2 came on DVD for people who pre-ordered, so there is a "real" DVD version available already. This might be the one (if so, nothing special is included).

I'm pretty sure the special dvd edition contained 2 dvds: one for the game, and one for the extra crap...

Ill wait for the crack..Cant believe no group can do the sims...But I have faith..Never had to use Clone b4..and never plan on it..THe scene always comes thru!

Can you install from the DVD clone and then use the working crackfix by Starfuckers or is that only for the CD version?

I actually bought the DVD version (had to get it imported - you can't buy it in this country) and the BM no-censorship patch works with the exe file the DVD version installed so I'm assuming they're the same. Also, if I mount the CD1 clone in daemon tools, the game starts up fine even though it was installed from the DVD.
Problem is, the Starfuckers crack apparently still doesn't work properly. When a real proper working crack comes out it should work fine with the DVD version of the game.
For those who are curious, the DVD version comes with two discs. One is the game itself which is identical to the 4 CD version in every way, except mine happens to only have English and Spanish language options. The second disc is full of bonus crap - it's a DVD video, so I'm assuming it's just a load of videos of the developers talking about the game. Not really worth the hassle.

this release have the installation setup only in english and spanish
but if you go into the regedit,and into the string
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/EA GAMES/The Sims 2/1.0/
you can change the value of the language string
for example the value 4 is for the italian language
i have tested it and work great

could anyone tell me how big this is?
ive fount two versions: one thats 2418 Mb and the other is 2078 Mb
hope someone can answer.
and one more thing, is the release working good? like i can burn it and install without using crack or what?
because i cant get the Alchohol release to work without mounting it.

U need The Sims 2 Virtual Disk the cracks that are out works but not for 100% cause when u try to build say a wall or a house u cant drag and drop

Interesting. My original DVD edition is much bigger than that. The game DVD contains 2.79GB and the bonus DVD contains 3.91GB. If it's really the game and the extras, it should total to 6.7GB or thereabouts. Most of the shit on the bonus disc is in DVD video format too so it won't compress all that well either.

I downloaded this DVD version and extracted and got four files:
ccd-sims2.000 - 002 and a .dvd file. I know the nfo says to burn it, but I was wondering if there was a way to mount and install/play? I tried Daemon Tools
v3.47 but it didn't install correctly/mount correctly. Any help on how to install/play without burning would be appreciated, thanks.
