Anyone? This doesn't mean that the files are the same? |
Yes. |
So that means PROCYON stole Milkman release? Like they stole that joke from bash.org in their NFO?
I got intrigued after see this comment on another forum:

It's CLONEDVD. That means that both MDF files have to be perfect clones of the same disc. MDF are the contents. MDS is what people usually get different and is what makes the main difference on whether the protection will be fooled or not.
Whether PROCYON stole the release or just made a clone same as MILKMAN's their release is nothing more than a useless for-the-scene release of an already independently released game.

As far as it's useful for me and I can play it - I don't give a fuck for the "scene".

Exactly what I'm saying. MILKMAN's release is out, it's fully working, it's a clone that works with YASU, and then PROCYON comes to give us the exact same release, the very same clone, just because they're scene and MILKMAN isn't.
Woo. Really.
Another thing now. I'm browsing through ATARI Europe forums on Test Drive Unlimited PC and many people are complaining that the game won't allow them to authenticate. Thing is, ATARI put the serial on the back side of the DVD case, so any store that has the original DVD cases up for grabs on the shelves allows pretty much anyone to note down the serial's without even buying the game. A really stupid thing for ATARI and the stores to do. Most people complaining are those who have bought the game from Bart Smith in Netherlands, so if you're Dutch and you're considering buy it from there, do yourself a favor and just don't. The safest way is to buy the game on-line through an online shop that doesn't have local stores with the games on the shelves (like E-Shop.gr for Greece) or to verify that you don't have access to the game's serial just by grabbing the game out of the shelf.
Now that I think about it, if you DO know a shop that has the game's cases on the wild like that, don't avoid it. Pay it a visit, and see if any of the serials are still valid.
Oh well.

What the hell. I've got this lag half of the time. 2 mins. lag, and then 2 mins. where it runs smooth and nice. What's that about. Anyone know how to fix it?

Thanks

Damn, why is it when I enable HDR my screen goes all screwy? I should be able to run this on full detail (and I can) but HDR setting screws up the textures and things disappear and stuff.
I love the premise of this game, and it seems 'nice' from a quick play but the handling and control of the beginner cars (and the lotus elise) leave something to be desired. There just isn't a feeling of real speed (which for a game style that espouses just that is rather odd).
In games like GTR/RBR and so on and so forth there is a real sense of speed because you CAN'T go too fast or it's game over. This is something games like NFS and now TD need to take on board I think. It'd be great if we could have a true cross over that recognises that.
Oh well, it seems fun. I'll try some more.

Try adjusting the resolution or refresh rate a couple of times (with HDR enabled)
It worked after i did that a couple 'o' times.

It is, I had lots of fun during the few days of the Open Beta. Met up with my buddies and did a little racing around the island or joined multiplayer games.
Besides, as I've already said, the AI can't beat the stupidity of some or the skill of others that you'll meet during Multiplayer.

I'll add to the people replying to you above. If when you start the game or when you change some graphics setting the textures and other stuff get all screwy, verify your changes and try changing the resolution. After you verify the changes it should all be OK and you'll be able to revert to your favorite resolution. It may take more than 1 try, so be patient.
And yes, EDEN DOES need to patch the game, there are quite a few issues that weren't fixed through the betas, but I really think we'll have to wait for the official release of the game in UK (at least) before the first patch comes out. I feel like us Europeans who got the game earlier than the UK or the US are like guinea pigs to beta-test and whine a bit more about the game... *Sigh*

So as it seems PROCYON did their own CLONEDVD. Still, it's all the same to me regarding the MILKMAN/PROCYON issue.

I think the game is about driving... for me it's lots of fun - Just drive those cars around the island and earn some cash. I find this game really great, though I miss some cars - Subaru Impreza, Lancer Evo, Nissan Skyline... Why the hell there is a Volkswagen - a car ANYBODY can buy, and no Skyline GTR34?
I hope they will be available to download.

Im getting stutters/pauses just before a new area loads in - just before and sometimes during the title for the new area appearing on the hud.
I've tried everything, setting affinity to just one core, disabling sound, defragmenting drive, unplugging logitech DFP wheel etc.
Im running on a Core 2 Duo E6300 @ 2.8Ghz , 2GB DDR2 and an NVidia 8800 GTX !
I get the full 60fps at 1920x1200 0xAA HDR, or full 60fps at 1920x1200 4xAA NO HDR.
This is a similar issue to the stutter in source games (which is fixed these days, i think!)
Any ideas ? Anyone else with a 8800 have the same problem under XP SP2 with 97.92 drivers ?

many users have this problem, is the game, is nothing related to your hardware, wait for a patch.
