Just my feedback and might be useful for others:
Burnt 2 copies one to cheap DVD+R DL and one to decent Traxdata DVD+R DL burnt using a pioneer 112D first with Nero then with Clonecd.
Using a PAL PS2 with Judas modchip, will not boot the game. Tried using the Toxic patcher, still will not boot the game. I guess the Judas modchip wont boot dvd9 then.

I have a early SubZero chip. I burned this to Verbatim DVD-R DL.
Burned with DVD Decrypter at 2,4 X speed. No problems at all.
The game is superb.
Can someone explain to me what 'progressive scan' is? I have a 720p HD LCD TV. why doesn't it support it?

Think the reason is because you are connecting using rgb scart, and you must be using component for progressive scan.
Could be wrong. It certainly makes a big difference btw.

Can confirm that the retail (man, this is really a game everyone should support esp. if you downed the first one too!) NTSC does not work on HDADVANCE 3.0. I tried to load it on the PS2 in my car and it was a no go in any mode.

if you are using swap magic here's how you get it to work.
download toxic patcher here http://www.ps2-scene.org/forums/latest-news/36239-dual-layer-patch-finally-released.html
download Gnie's Tool ExPERT here http://www.alucard.cc/ps2/ExPERT_v1.03.rar
1.With Toxic patcher patch the iso file
2. with Gnie's Tool ExPERT Select the Shrinker_ps2_psp_CdDvd5_iso.epi on the plugins drop down list.
3. Select the iso you want to rebuild.
4. Click extract LBA.
5. Click extract file and wait for it to finish.
6. Click rebuild file and wait for it to finish.
7. Click rebuild LBA.
8. Burn the new iso to a dvd5 with Nero or DVD Decrypter as usual.
I played it for 6 hour and it worked perfect with this method i'm using swap magic.

Question though... what does this do exactly, I know it makes it smaller, but how? Where does all that data go? Are movies downsampled or what? Only the first layer? I'm confused. I don't wanna have it crashing on me half way through for example.

My Magic 3.1 specs say "Multidisc-Dvd9 ready..Will it play this game?Also,let's assume that I don't really need to patch the iso, but still do, will that actually damage anything?

djcyrax's method sounds damn sweet if it works for us who don't have a DL burner. Will try it first thing when I get home, but I'm also curious as to what happens to all the extra data.

Well i tried watch the cedits then the game just locked up, so i guess the extras are gone?
Not sure yet i will have to play some more to unlock extras to see if there still there.

i tried it just like u said and if i try to rebuild LBA i get error 401 - Error Opening NEW-E-GODWAR2.ISO
