Using this method, the game only has the first layer burnt, which means it works perfectly until a certain point, and it either hangs, or becomes unplayable, I have reached this point, in that there is just a gap where a bridge should be.

i've heard that playing from a DL makes the same problem... so it must be a bad release.. has anyone finished it so they can confirm of decline this?
i'd try te DVD5.. i've got nothing to lose.. it's like 10 times less expensive than a DL

People are reporting that burning the dvd9 with the toxic patch works absolutely fine.Which is great for modchip users, swapmagic users, not so great as the largest game that will boot under SM is 4.7.

Do we have any Crystal Chip users trying this out with or without the Toxic patcher patch?

OK , I'm doing the dvd5 thing so that while I'll wait a proper dvd5 , at least I can play the beginning of this cool game.
Did try to patch and burn the dvd9 with no go , shame =(
My ps2 just made terrible noise (clicking and banging ) when I inserted the dvd9 in . . . even tried to tweak the laser but it did nothing
PC is out of fashion , XBOX360 , PS2 , Harman Kardon AVR 435 / Sony KDL-40X2000

Hi, i burnt it 3 times now. None of them worked. Thought it doesn`t work with cheap media and bought Verbatim DVD +R DL today, but no luck!
I don`t know why it doesn`t work. Please help me!
I tried this patcher, i tried NERO, i tried Clone-CD.
I have a PAL PS2 with a Messiah Chip! But i already burnt a DVD9 a few months ago so this should be no problem!!

For people haveing this game up and running:
Try going to the treasure room and hit credits (at the end of the list).
For me it blacks out....

I'm almost half way through, I'll let you guys know if it goes any further, I doubt it though, I think someone already confirmed it crashes with the DVD5 method.

check your disc with apache 2. If you can change between layers (right click on the disk-->swap layer or something like that), then you wrote the disc correctly, but if the app says "you can only switch layers with a dvd9 disc"(or something like this ^^), than you're screwed

Same problem here. For the first 3 hours of the game there were no problems at all but shortly before getting to the bridge I noticed the music was having some problems. Once I arrived at the bridge the PS2 just tried and tried to load something that just never loaded.
I have a CC chip running in minimal mode and I've tried both a patched and unpatched burn.
