Game is great! The AI is amazing, something I was really hoping for, and the graphics are pretty good. I think people are forgetting about the amount of vegetation and trees on screen at anyone time compared with how well it runs. Still, after about 40mins of play I got artefacts so I've stopped for now. Its odd, I haven't had them with any other game, I would guess its either a bug or this game SERIOUSLY heats up cards, mine was about 85ish (non-stock cooled 6800GT). Still the game plays very well! Glad I grabbed it Smile!

Ah you have the same video card as me. What is the rest of your system like?

played for about 1h. seems pretty fun.
my only complaints so far are the sometimes bad performance, no skill/level up system and no vehicles (?)

No vehicles. They were removed for the final game I read earlier.

3.2 P4, 2Gb RAM, XFI Sound. I have it set to custom settings with the shadow details reduced slightly and static lighting (dynamic on objects worked, but it was a tad too slow for me).. everything else is pretty much full with 2xAA and 4xAF, plays great!

The performance is fine here, but I agree its a shame there is no skill/level system and the lack of vehicles is a HUGE let down. But over all its still fun! There seems to be a huge amount to be done, I only wish the world was a little more open. Hopefully we will see some uber mods Very Happy!

For some reason i cant load my quick-saves. Anyone have any idea on that one?

As for the problems i had earlier with FSAA, it works if i dont use the FSAA-option maxed, but it works with the ones under that. Weird Smile

Anyways, anyone know whats up with the quicksaves?

oblivion with guns is a good description.
learning curve is a little steep for fps people but i am enjoying it.

textures on max and lighning to static i get 80-90 fps.

Launches fine without any cracks or tools, and runs ok at 1024x768 medium/high on a p4 2.8 1GB, 6600GT.

>no skill/level up system and no vehicles (?)

Fuck yeah! I was really annoyed in SS2 with the whole "no, you can't use the saber just yet, not yours" bullshit, and thankfully there's none of it here. The lack of vehicles, however, sucks Sad

Anyway, I must say that I've been somewhat disappointed... the graphics are just ok, and there are some problems, the grass animation looks horrible and unnatural for example. The biggest problem is with combat, it just doesn't feel satisfying. Maybe it's just the pistol, it seems completely useless. I'll try to play again tomorrow, hopefully it's just a bad first impression.

Amazing game, amazing AI. I was shocked when two military guys retreated to some train car, went up the little ladder, hid themselves inside and started shooting from windows.

The idle NPC chat (in russian) is great too - stalkers telling jokes, gossiping, bitching and yapping at each other. Nice little touch.
