KeyserSoeze what natural borders do you want? I thought fences are there because behind that fence no antiradioactive suit will save your ass. If thats not natural in an environment like that, i dont know what is. Would you like to see mountains surrounding the whole zone, or maybe even invisible walls? Even right now, after the first explosion there are still fences left, you know why, because there is radiation and yes they are tall so that idiots would not cross it.
To Ramunas: Do you see those flying flames around? Try to shoot them. I shot them and then the door and it opened.

Sig too big. -Nothing is too big for Fedor. Expect a nasty armbar.

Meh. Some more hours in it. Thin as paper characters, simple quests, but excellent atmosphere. Combat still feels kinda meh. As if you are shooting rubber bullets, and the enemies just fall down because they pity you.

This sucks to hear. I was hoping the combat would the one element that would live up to the hype. It sounds like locational damage is much of a factor at all. Sad

Shut the fuck up about Oblivion, it was a game where you could go anywhere you wanted, Bethesda still made it into utter shit.

I also think fisk should be unbanned.

You have a very bizarre definition of RPG then. It's a FPS with a little more inventory management than usual.

Not sure why people think it isn't linear either--do you really enjoy clearing out bandit camps that repopulate within a couple game hours, or doing randomly chosen and rather pointless side-quests?

It's MP only content, so it doesn't even apply to the clone/cracked version anyway.

Whatever the bonus content was that release was prolly just for unleased's borderline insane rant.

I dunno why they hassle TNT who have been around for a bit and generally do a good job at what they do. After a patchy start unleashed did some reasonable stuff too but who needs flakey types posting rants not code? Insecure as all hell since little tidbits slip out fer the software combine thugs to snarfle up.

I don't like this game so much. Battles are crappy :/
You can't compare it to HL2 at all.

It's not like guns, ammunition, or even money are exactly scarce in the game. Just dump the extra crap in the blue footlockers you see everywhere and come back for it later when you find someone to trade with. Ammo is heavy, especially shotgun shells... and it's not really a good idea to try to lug around 1000 rounds of pistol bullets either. Too much food will quickly overload you too so just carry enough of the canned stuff to keep the hunger icon away and use bandages and medkits to heal.

do you ppl also have the problem that the game is so hard to beat even on Novice !.
In some parts there are so much enemy's and they simply won't die!!!. it looks like im playing on the highest difficulty!, And im always out of ammo... this really suck. I hate the firefights, it plays so "fake".

It gets better once you have an AK and, more importantly, are fighting bandits who carry AK's so that you can actually have enough ammo to use it. It's still frustrating though.. you go from dropping a guy a couple hundred meters out with a single shot using the iron sights to emptying 3+ clips at his buddy because the cone of fire is just awful.

If you're having a really hard time on novice, all I can think of is that you went the wrong way and have tried to fight the camp to the south.

Well, thank god not everyone likes the game. This confirms its status of something totally new, special and understimated. Stalker is european underground cinema and HL2/Crysis is your typical hollywood blockbuster. The game is fucking awesome thanks to atmosphere, non-linearity and immense possibilities.
Most of you guys expect a linear script/story-driven experience and you feel cheated when you don't get it.
Yes, this is different. You can assault that military roadblock under the bridge or you can sneak around.
You can help the scientists and get the hazmat-suit to roam through radiated zones or you can find 5x artefacts -20% rad each.
You can get the SVD sniper rifle after 1 hour into the game - thanks to your SKILL (if you're good at headshots, if you find some nice stuff in secret stashes etc.).
You can sell the +400% health artefact and the -300 bleeding one or you can use 'em to raid the military base and grab some nice gear. It's fucking awesome.

You just didn't get what you've been getting from games for the last few years and bam! you call it shit at once.
Get back to you console over-the-shoulder-view hardcore action and enjoy it. This is for the connoisseurs, just like fine cuban cigars, foie gras and caviar.

P.S. ... and would say all the same if the game was american, european, mexican or chinese

I think you're supposed to avoid the radiation areas until you have an artifact that protects you. Vodka and anti-rad drugs don't seem to prevent radiation sickness, they just cure it.

Yepp... This game is bad in the shooting area,, too bad, because the atmosphere is really great.

And the graphics is like 5 years behind,, even if you have a really fast computer!

check my prev. message - either get the artefacts that reduce rad (put several in your belt and you get 100% resistance) or grab a hazmat suit after you save the scientist. you'll probably be able to buy it later in the game
