Dude you need to put that EXE file in the BIN directory. And then run the game  ... Sorry if someone already mentioned...
Anyway: My specs on this machine sucks. But it runs HL2 maxed (no AA) and it runs oblivion medium on 1024 and it runs F.e.a.r pretty well with medium on textures.
blah.. AMD athlon 64 3200+ ATIradeon9800 pro. 1,5GB ram.
The game runs smooth like hell and then, suddenly, it runs with like 0.1 FPS and keep doin that for awhile. Then it runs good etc. whats the problem?
I've tried put everything on low with no luck.
Seems like its becoming a slideshow when I watch some houses from a distance. Like the first camp... But when Im in it. or when Im inside somewhere. or in the forest wandering around its smooth with 40+ fps..
Any ideas please? Console commands or drivers or what ever.
I'm buying a new rig at the end of the month or at least CPU & GPU. But I figured that if I can make this run soso I can wait a bit longer to upgrade... =P |

i'm having probem with the sounds in game. it has hiccups every seconds, making it irritating when conducting a conversation with an npc. I disabled EAX in sounds. I even put minimum for video. but it didnt fix it.
My audio is mainboard chip and i never had any problems with other games.

Got the VITALITY release and ran into some problems. First off, when the installation is about to finish it freezes. Altough it seems that the game was installed successfully, so I applied the crack but I just got a small screen with some info, a pic and Stalker written on it (u know what I mean) then it disappears after 5 seconds and the game has not started.
AMD X2 5400+
8800 GTX
2GB RAM
XP SP2

I'm still havning problems and the games runs like sh*t on Vista, i will reinstall WinXp right now, Vista is not ready for gaming...... period |

Yep I just formatted over vista with xp and reinstalled everything and the game runs much smoother. Vista was so overhyped. It won't really be ready to go for another year.

WD raptor disk 10k rpm
sp2
mid/high settings 1024*768 and it runs at 90 to 120 fps.. cant say i can complain about that
but still.. huge issue with temp on gpu.. 20*C+ more than HL2 and once a minute my mouse keeps lagging, and then it runs fine again.. i dont get it

Hum... i can run it with everithing maxed but still... when i look at the sky the graphics get all weird Surprised they start do drag Surprised but only when i look up... it runs great with everithing maxed though... i already tryied to lower the visual options but it still happends : o

missing textures: every texture is just blank.. i can see the lighting and it seems like every texture is just one solid color .. whats the deal with that??

Has anyone gotten the multiplayer to work. Not even on hamachi due to it giving an invalid serial error, which none of the releases include. Anyone know of a work around?

Also getting artifacts in the rain. Dont think it is an overheating issue. My 6800GT is running the game around 80-81C.

At first I tried the game with ViTALiTY's crack, had problems with dynamic lighting enabled, no 3D display, then I tried static lightning and was abe to play. But after a few mins, it crashed.
Then I went back to original exe and now game plays fines except the crosshair doesn't display at all, which is very annoying to play. btw, I'm on vista and so I tried using latest 101.41 forceware and nothing changed

Is it normal?

vista is one of your problems, OS is still too new for games to run so smooth, 2) nvidia has shitty driver support for vista atm. so go back to XP |

im having freezes after about 5 or 10 minutes of playing. freezes and i cant even alt tab the thing.

most of it's not overheating. Did you try unleashed with cracks or vit with vit's crack? Anything running in the background? How much memory? |

1 gig of ram and virtually nothing running in the background exept zone alarm and some net stuff like icq and skype. I just tried changing the cracks and lowering some of the stuff in the options and still the game freezes like crazy. Dont get it tho, nobody else has this problem.

My buddy's games crash and freze when he has skype or msn running, try with disabling those? Also post what temps your hardware hits

I am running WIN XP, and having major problems with quickload... I seem i cannot Quickload more then once in menu or ingame. Then the quickload button is disabled lol?

Tried Unleashed and ViTALiTY releases, same problem on both of them, getting stuck on same loading screen with "Client: Synchronizing..." displaying at the bottom.

Got exactly the same problem and nearly the same specs. Except I have an athlon 64 X2 3800+. Any ideas why the game is freezing?
edit: Tried all the 3 versions, Unleashed, ViTALiTY and Hatred but same problem -> Client: Synchronizing...
Help please.
edit: Ok finally, when I turn the EAX off the game runs fine. But I have a Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeMusic so it should be working but it isn't.

revert to vista original nvidia drivers?!? no way! I can play the game at highest settings. The only lag I get is loading areas, I'll try defragmenting tonight.
I get the occasional crash on save/load too.

Anyone running this on a laptop?
Im afraid it will mess up my Inspirion 9400 cuse it becomes wicked hot and i get some nasty artifactas when it rains.
Never had probs with overheating before but this game seems to stress the living hell out of my cpu and gpu.

I also get the artifacts when it starts to rain.
I have the folowing setup:
AMD 64 3500+
1.5Gb DDR 400
Gainward Nvidia 6800GT
Settings are at High with Static Lights
And i checked the temps of my GFXcard but they are not high.

I'm having a problem with displaying sky and horizont correctly. They blur with each other. I like motion blur effect but not in this case.
My specs are:
Ram: 512mb
CPU: Sempron 2600+ 1.60ghz not overclocked
Graphic Card: GeForce 6200 128mb , latest forceware
I know these specs are low but beside this horizont/sky bug game runs good on low/medium settings and 800x600 resolution...
EDIT:
It's definitely not overheating of GPU (46 C ). Especially that this glitch occurs from the vey beginning i go outside.

I am also getting the rain artifacts and gun texture flickers, but i also have this strange problem - sometimes, when i am looking at a certain direction, the game slows down to a crawl (about 2 fps) and when i manage to change my direction enough, then it goes back to normal.
My specs are - P4 3GHz, 1 GB RAM, GF6800GS 256MB@450/1200 (factory default). Nothing is overheating. Running on 1024x768, medium settings, object dynamic and get about 30 fps (good enough for me). Tried a bunch of different drivers, nothing changed.
