@Mistress:
What are your PC Specifications?,and how is the game's renderin?..does it goes "Soft,Smooth and Fast" just like the arcade (or take "Devil May Cry" as reference)...or "normal and with slow speed"? (OKAMI,Call Of Duty,etc..) ?

Anyway this isn't new. This is a problem with all Virtua Tennis games but it can be rectified by playing against human opponents. |
Thanks, I don't mean to be such a downer. But I was so looking forward to this game. The whole shot selection is the key for me. I want to be able to do what I want at any moment. Super Tennis allowed that and VT3 doesn't. This game will appeal to many, but I am just to disappointed. I just installed Top Spin 2, hopefully this will be better.

It's an old argument really, but it's not without merit. Greater shot selection would be nice, and is long overdue, but I'm satisfied with VT3 personally, it's a fun and solid title
This isn't supposed to be a simulation, it is an arcade representation of tennis. I think it fits somewhere between simulation and arcade myself but you may disagree because you hanker for more realism!
Anyway let me know how Top Spin is I've never played it myself.

What do you mean?
It's very smooth and fast on my computer with the full settings (2.13Ghz, 7950GT and 1GB RAM) - just make sure you have vsynch enabled.
Playing some more it's very nice graphically but they don't really exploit it in my opinion. Where's all the closeups of the females

There is a configurator. Quit the game and run it. Should be in the All programs listing.

I hated TopSpin 2 on the Xbox360.
Just kept me frustrating. Felt like running in glue and the precision sucked. And whats with the 2 sec wait inbetween serves??
And when you get the hang of it, its too simple.
Boooring.

The characters run like they are smurfs, its super-arcade. And the graphics look like a hip-hop video with exaggerated contrast. Not to mention the ball trail.. Please.
Top Spin 2 are super on the 360 tough, its really sad how pathetic they get on the PC
Then again, i guess i'd rather play a tennis game in my couch, so meh. |
What? The characters are the most fluent characters in video gaming, whilst their animations and movements are the most natural! How you could possibly rip on that aspect of the game is completely beyond me. The graphics aren't truly amazing but they are what I'd term 'lovely' to look at. I also find the contrast is just fine at the highest settings (maybe you are complaining about the HDR/Bloom type effects?) and the ball trail is a remnant of this being an arcade conversion.
This game is made for everyone. It's something I can play with my sixty year old father and still enjoy and be challenged by. It's a pity people make preconceptions about games that are clear from the very outset as to what they are trying to achieve. I mean I could list many things I'd like improved but that's not the point, that's not what Virtua Tennis series is about.

Virtua Tennis has always looked good - even the original Virtua Tennis is still a looker. It's all in the animation and the solidity of the characters coupled with the feeling of pseudo realism you get whilst controlling and playing the game.
Also 'next gen' is a marketing buzzword. Of course we can run next-gen on the PC, it's just games that have 'next gen' graphics as a selling point aren't PC material and better focused on the console where piracy is less dominant.

Game sucks balls, period. And like the one person said its crashing at random every once in awhile. Top Spin 2 owns the hell out of this gameplay wise.

For some reason I try to avoid anything made by Sega, they were big back in the day but now most things they develop are crap.

I don't like that career mode doesn't use the difficulty setting. Means the start of the game is real easy.

Ispep,
Well, I actually liked VT3 better than TS2. I had a tough time getting my player in position to hit the ball in TS2. The animations were very slow and it seemed like the computer was way faster than I was even though the computer player was described as slow?! Good point on VT3 being an arcade simulation of Tennis. If you look at it that way it's an awesome game! Super Tennis, LAUGHING, must have been a simulation of Tennis. It's cartooney graphics wouldn't make you think so. I will have to give VT3 another try and create my own player. That's cool that you can choose all your stats.

Hey ... any reason to get this game instead of TopSpin2? I already have TS2, and it's as good of an arcade-type tennis game as any ...
asus z170-A || core i5-6600K || geforce gtx 970 4gb || 16gb ddr4 ram || win10 || 1080p led samsung 27"

No somethings clearly wrong with the exe simple as that, I tried the one from GCW too, still crashes. The one that came with release it just exits game out of no where, no error no nothing just closes. The one from GCW actually shows a .exe error in popup.
The gameplay does actually get a little better once you get skills up. But its still no TS2.

Must be a hardware or driver issue because I've experienced not a single crash and I've played it for many hours now.

I was a big fan of Top Spin 1 on the PC, but Top Spin 2 seemed rushed and unoptimized. It got uninstalled rather quickly. Gonna try this out.
