It can be iffy, but in most cases its ok. In this example, the filename is in the NFO, so stating it here isn't providing any information that isn't already shown on the website. |
I understand. Could you clarify a little though? What would you consider an OK situation, and a forbidden situation in regards to asking what the filename is?

You would probably never be banned for asking for a filename, but a mod would remove the information and ask for it to not be put up again.
If the filename is in an NFO = Ok to put it up (as its going to end up on the site anyway)
If the filename is not in an NFO = Not really that suitable to be put on the forum
End of the day we are not protecting the users from this information, we're protecting the website from being shut down. Any information a company would deem as "providing access to illegal material" should not be put on the website. Its just common sense really. Banable offences are those that directly break the rules.
"Can you tell me where you downloaded that?"
"Does anyone have a serial?"
"Can you link me to a crack/or other file including original game data - (this can at times be iffy, best to ask first)?"

Horraarryy its out and grabbing now. GDI, Nod, and Scrin goodness.. Superior Skirmish AI, excels on what was good in Generals/ZH and Battle for Middle Earth 2. VERY much looking forward to playing this even though I am 2/3s the way through Stalker. Ughhh!

Thanks for the help jigsaw...didn't work, but I noticed something odd.
The audio sync only seems to affect the first GDI cutscene...the first NOD cutscene is on sync.
I have to play more to find out if it only affects the first GDI video or all of them.
