... There was a time, where film was made with a passion. Its images living photographies, its manuscript a novel which has been re-written and adjusted several time. Both Date Movie and Epic movie has underlined the descent of the modern film.

The Fountain 8/10
Very deep movie, very deep and artistic. Brad Pitt was a fool to trade this for Troy.

Fantastic movie, I'm glad Pitt didn't do the role, the guy who did was utterly perfect! The OST rocks too!

Perfume: Story of a murderer. 8/10
Personally i thought this movie was amazing. So artistic it was just fantastic!
Wouldnt recommend it to anyone who is not open minded about films or only like a certain genre or even a few genres. to enjoy this i think you have to enjoy all aspects of films and be willing to watch any genre. personally i'll watch ANYTHING! i just love movies!

Books are generally always better as the visual element is created by yourself and how you perceive what is written. However i love films and although the book is said to be better it will not change my opinion of the film as i treat them as two seperate entities and can seperate them easily. I am assuminng you have read the book?! i Know the book is supposed to be a lot more graphic!

Yes, I've read the book and the main issue I have about the film is that.... it's absolutely identical to the book. I mean usually a director adds something of his own (see The Prestige etc.) and in Perfume Tykwer added absolutely nothing. I guess he was too 'afraid' to spoil the masterpiece. As a result we have a book that've become alive and not someone's unque view on it. Which may still be considered as a good approach by some.
p.s. I liked both the book and the movie but I prefer the book

Remember to watch after all the credits are done rolling
Spoiler: | then you will see that Professor Xavier isn't dead at all. Remember when he was in the classroom with all the children talking about transferring a mind into a dead body ? |
