Xbox Live users with friends lists could soon see those lists grow dramatically. Starting May 7, Microsoft will launch a new service called Windows Live Messenger on Xbox 360. This will allow users of Xbox Live friends lists to merge those rosters with Windows Messenger buddy lists.

That means users of each service will be able to instant message each other, regardless of whether they're using an Xbox 360, a Windows PC or a Windows Mobile device.

Beginning the week of May 7, users of Windows Live Messenger on Xbox 360 can text chat using the virtual keyboard accessible on Xbox 360, or by connecting a USB keyboard to the console. This summer Microsoft will launch a QWERTY text-input device, a new accessory that will connect directly into the Xbox 360 controller to support text and instant messaging.

I like that little accessory keyboard. Would be cool on a wireless controller.

How can they tell if it's a backup or not? Razz Besides, firmware hack will probably bypass that anyway.

I believe they can, I just don't know if they care as it's only a select group of people who are capable of running backups Rolling Eyes

Do you think they'ld ever do anything sneaky, like when a big game like halo 3 is released, leak a region free version a few weeks early that's tagged in some way. Leave it a fair few months for the version to permeate then bingo you've got your pirates?

What do you mean, it's not exactly difficult.
