it got a 9.1 at gamespot. that's pretty impressive considering how strict they rate games these days.

So very true. Actually it is the fault of individuals who sell the game that the scene began to become raided and pushed into a tight rope. Because idiots ran about everywhere selling burned cds about. ~.~

There's nothing to winning, really. That is, if you happen to be blessed with a keen eye, an agile mind, and no scruples whatsoever.

battles are abstract anyway, the game is more like a boardgame, and the fun comes in the way you can play it not how the battles are deciptied, even though they are class in their own right to watch.

A clonecd is a direct copy of a disk there isnt a crack or something but with the right "TOOLS" you can play it.

I am not putting the game down. But I do not understand how it achieved a 9.1 . Warhammers battling system, etc. was far more intense. Or perhaps I have taken on such a thought due to the lacking ingame videos they had showed on gamespot and ign. Is everyone so hyped up about this one because so many soldiers can be seen on the battleground at once? Or are their animations really awesome while in battle? Because the videos I had seen did not offer much. I am not picking on it,merely just my two cents :/ But I will check it out first. |
Well, part of the hype comes from the previous Total War games. If you have played any of them, you know what i mean. They have a depth of combat simulation, you can rearely seen. (example: every soldier on the battlefield - not just the units, but the 100s/1000s of soldier within each unit - have their own moral, experience, weapon/armor stats, etc)
The only weakness in the previous Total War games were the combat graphics... well, after playing the demo, i can tell ya: the demo alone is a masterpiece. Seeing the videos and screens of the final game makes me think, that this game is about to set new standards for strategy games.

I never had any problems with clones using alcohol. I'm using 1.9.2 build 1705. I haven't tried this one yet though.

I totally agree with you, Rome has been hyped beyond belief but you have to blame the magazines and gaming websites for that. I was totally underwhelmed with the demo, i thought the animations were a complete mess tbh. As a COMPLETE game though i think it's going to be ok because of the planning and stategy map screen which were in the previous games. I just think that the battle screens are way overated...judging by the demo. |
in some ways i do agree with you. the demo didnt impress me much. i also believe this game was overhyped by the media. judging by playing the demo, i would give this game a 8.6. perhaps the full version is better???

Lol yeah mount it without emulation on daemon and it works fine, you practically got the full game you just need a cdkey.
