lmao, gotta wait until 8/3 to find out it isn't sc2 or d3. I don't care what it is, if it isn't any of those two it's GAY and I'm not interested. Why stop now with the wow junk when tons of people still fork over the cash for it? Haven't been keeping up with blizzard lately so correct me if I'm wrong but I haven't seen any recent examples of them giving the community what they really want as opposed to making a quick buck the easiest possible way.

Not expecting anything new from blizzard until wow starts losing popularity so I'm hoping some new great mmorpg comes up soon and draws people away from wow. I think that's the only time when blizzard will start thinking about sc2 Sad

I wouldn't say that Smile.. They have WOW and BC.. it's still a gold mine, million players.. million monthly fees Smile

Yeah, it's like 300,000 people buying a full priced Blizzard game every month. They must have so much money now they can develop any game they want.

I've always liked Blizzard as a company, they make quality games and support them for many years after the release, but I hate MMORPG's and think they're milking WoW just a bit too much.

If they use WoW to fund some awesome non MMO stuff that'd be totally sweet. Then they can milk it all they want for all I care. Razz

But then again, Blizzard never cared about money really, they always had the funds to do whatever they wanted, their publishers usually left them alone because Blizz products are always top-notch.

It's the waiting that kills everyone, because Blizz only releases when they absolutely feel it's ready... They need to put their millions into figuring out a faster dev cycle. Wink

That was the old blizzard. Read everything about the team members that left and coming from someone that played WoW at launch and got almost 1/2 the game in the expansion that was promised at release. It's a different company now, and it's shit.

Well along with what Phluxed said.. D3 is the most dangerous territory for Blizz to wander in at the moment, since they DID lose all their head Diablo franchise guys.

But hopefully their new ranks are filled with great talent and even better ideas.

As cool as those geek conventions for Star Wars, WoW, etc are. In other words, totally lame. Razz

Besides, who would want to wait 5 hours to take a ride through Stratholme? Oh, wait a minute, you already do that in the game Razz

WTB On-Topic Posts.

Any more news from anyone else?

I've been perusing some forums and SC2 seems all but confirmed as the next launch title for blizzard.

This game will be officially confirmed on may 19th at a Blizzard's World Wide Invitational (WWI) in Seoul.

Quote:
It has been confirmed that StarCraft 2 is being developed in 3D, a new race has been added and existing units' characteristics will have many changes. Additional details will only be revealed to certain parts of WWI.

However, trustworthy information is being leaked from previous Blizzard employees, and through an acquaintance of ex-Blizzard North employees, StarCraft 2's development and its announcement at the WWI has been confirmed.

MBC Game's Lee Sang-Ho head said "Frankly, it's half anticipation and half worry. If SC2 is released in a form that is compatible with e-sports broadcast, there will be many new gamers and the entire industry will develop. However if it comes out in a form that is not easy to broadcast, like WarCraft 3, StarCraft fans will focus on the sequel while the original league will suffer a decline", expressing a cautious mindset.

OnGameNet's StarCraft commentator Um Jae-Kyung said "Blizzard has probably already grasped the difference between this nation's gamers and foreign gamers' difference in inclination through WarCraft 3. So I'm hoping for a more balanced structure, a structure with e-sports in mind. However, I believe that the e-sports league will continue to focus on StarCraft and a new league focusing on StarCraft 2 will form, the industry growing bigger as a result. As a gamer, I'm really looking forward to it.

Aye. I'd see flagship making the next diablo before blizzard.

SC2 does sound yummy though. Blizzard still understands the idea of polish.

World of starcraft wouldn't be that bad in facts.

Think about it, there's nothing else apart from med-fan in mmorpg. (I mean, there are few, but the games are no fun and nobody's playing them.) I would like some "space marines vs aliens shit in MMORPG !

Blizzard Hiring for Next-Gen MMO
The creator of WoW is developing its own competition.
by Daemon Hatfield

April 27, 2007 - Blizzard has updated its job listings with several positions that will be working on a next-gen massively multiplayer online game (MMO). The publisher/developer is seeking a Lead Engine Programmer, Lead Tools Programmer, and a Lead Technical Artist. Begin speculation…now.

The term "next-gen" is typically used to describe consoles, and World of Warcraft has been rumored to be heading to the Xbox 360. Of course, Blizzard's VP of Development Itzik Ben Bassat told Empire Magazine a few months ago that the company's next MMO would not be another WoW. The Lead Engine Programmer Blizzard is seeking will be in charge of developing an entirely new engine for this next-gen MMO, and a port of WoW would likely use a tweaked version of the existing engine.

There have also been ongoing rumors about the continuation of the StarCraft franchise as either another real-time strategy game or a World of StarCraft-type MMO.

Blizzard is set to make a major announcement at an event in Korea next month. IGN will be on hand at the event, and hopefully we'll learn more about this project at that time.

The next Starcraft needs to be an RTS, not some MMO bullshit.

If anyone disagrees with that statement, please state your opinion, so we can bash the f00k out of you.
