Just thought about it how cool it would be if I bought a wireless controller to play games like Prince of Persia or other Jump&Runs or games which perform better on a controller.

Well the only wireless controller for the PC I know, is the Microsoft 360 Controller but I heard it does have it flawns in games and there is only FF in Vista.

Well, anyone who could give me some advice what controller I should get? Wireless is a must. Thank you.

the 360 controller is perfect. and has ff in xp. no need to get anything less. plus more n more games will support it in the future and its always nice to see a button pop up and actually be the button, not a 1 2 or 3

Even better was the fact ms made a usb receiver so you can just pick up one of those if ya already got a couple controllers lying around.

can someone sum up the pros and cons?

lol right. I mean I got a loveseat that sits behind me that I'll sit in when playing games on a pad but even that isn't far enough to worry about cordless. Even if you did get the dongle to defeat wires..the cord on it is long as hell. so you'll still end up with a messy cable

I don't have one, but I know that there are programs that will map the controller to keyboard buttons so that even if the game doesn't support gamepads you can still use the controller. The X360 controller is really nice.

only problem with that program is it doesn't have sensitivity control so it can't determin analog movement as well as the x360 triggers.

I picked up my 360 controller when Spidey 3 appeared, a great pad to use on the PC. Had a Saitek P880 prior to that, god it blew.

lol we all told you to get the wired Laughing see what happens when you don't take the advice asked for and given Very Happy

If anything you'd be better off emailing M$ about it Crying or Very sad though they'll prob charge you for it. Is there a channel selection you can choose and if so you got both on the right channel? You got the correct drivers?

there is no channel selection, everything should work off the box, like the mini-4-step-manual said. Well it does not.
Installed the correct drivers, Receiver is installed correctly, its just the sync sequence which does not work at all. It kinda seems like it recognizes the controller but then it just starts flashing again.

When Im trying to sync both thingies, controller and receiver, they immediately flashing for good, but the controller goes on and on and on flashing the damn ring of light while the receiver stays call again. the controller does work on a real 360 though.

I had that one too, no problems till i dropped it while playing Sad. When i installed it the first time there were some issues, i think i pressed the connect button on the receiver and the mode button on the controller, but after that i didnt have to press anything, everytime i plugged it in and pressed a button on the controller it was connected.

Well if you accidentally press the 'Mode' button then it disconnects again. Maybe thats the problem. And do you mean that when you're in a game that it disconnects or when its just sitting there. Because that is normal.

What OS?

Did you use the drivers off the cd or from the web?

You may want to unhook the receiver and uninstall software. Download current software and install it, then plug the receiver back in. A reboot in the middle of that probably wouldn't hurt.

uhm, what is the "mode" button?

installed it from cd, then tried the software from tha intarnezz, nothing.

and uhm, Im trying to connect the controller to the reciever, the 1player ringsection should be green, but it just keeps flashing like mad. the whole ring.

anyone with a step by step instruction, how to install that thing and how to connect everything properly? Im desperate. Using WinXP SP2 Pro.

yay I did it!

what a bitch the receiver is, oh well...

the problem was the USB Drivers and the Mapping and all the shit which is hanging on the USB Interface, like the Printer, iPod Dock, etc.

Well, unplugged the Receiver, unplugged the rest of the stuff which is hanging on a USB Port. Then Uninstall everything related to USB in the Device Manager (right click, delete Hardware/Driver). Then Scan for new Hardware, it will install all the USB stuff in no minute back. Then Plug the Receiver in again, wait till its fully usuable and active the Pad with the X-Box Live! Button in the middle. Ta-Da, it connects in a few secs and is fully operateable. You can plug in the the other stuff now in too, everything should work fine now.

Problem was probably USB Mapping related, dunno. Anyway, it works finally and installed the Pinnacle Game Profiler to play some San Andreas, awsome, like on the console Wink

Most Wanted is a bitch, steering is a bit off, the analogstick is not properly calibrated, my cars always steers a bit to the left/right. Dunno what to do. Anyway Im happy that the thing is working now. Im teh smartezt.
