well, you need to upgrade to 1.0001 first and after that to 1.0003. When i try the patch it says that it found 1.0000 and not 1.0001 so it doesnt install.

But when I upgrade to 1.0001 then my saves are lost. I already played quite long I don`t wanna start from the beginning again.

For a lack of better word the side missions restock after a certain time so you can always continiue to play and complete them.

Regarding certain stashes there is a known bug that multiple marked stashes may become permanent if they get referenced several times.
(One log says something about hidden item near military checkpoint while another says something about hidden ammo near the military checkpoint as a example)

Try to loot the stash completely, move away for a while and then try to loot it again, usually helps but some locations will remain no matter what you do and those will also respawn a infinite amount of times.

Thanks for the info

I have the Unleashed "worldwide" release of the game and patched the game to ww v1.0001 and used the hatred fix. This was a month or so ago. Now I try to install the v1.0003 patch and it cannot proceed, it says there is a "checksum difference", so it probably blacklisted the hatred crack from allowing to patch the game? Can I get around this without re-installing? I think I need the original v1.0000 exe and it would probably allow me to patch. I didn't bother backing up the original exe because this isn't a problem with 98% of the games I play.

I also wonder why more companies don't implement a checksum into their patches because this would prevent people like me from being able to patch. But most games patch without any problems.

The checksum difference is not an anti piracy measure at all.

You should have backed up the original exe before cracking Razz

Well this is like the first game to do this in a LOOOONG while so I don't bother backing them up.

And how do you know it's not an anti-piracy measure seeing as only a few games do this and most patch without any problems?

Can anyone share theirs?

EDIT: That was only a joke btw, I know you can't ask for those things here.

I'll look for it on irc... Embarassed

@dzjepp

It's smart to follow advice. ALWAYS backup all files you overwrite with cracked ones. Also, don't use IRC, it may kill you, just reinstall.

Uhm when you are going to patch some bytes of a file you need it to match up to the original executable, otherwise everything fucks up.

So are you saying that when release groups modify the exe's they spoof and/or modify the checksum as well? Sorry I guess I don't know this in full detail. But no harm done because I'm always open to learning. Smile

What is puzzling to me is why this is the first game in a few years or so that prompts me with such an error...

EDIT: Also I only play a handful of PC games or so a year, so maybe I don't know the full extent of this, but is this more common with a lot of PC games?

im pretty sure you cant spoof a checksum , there are exes though that check their own checksum when started , for example the BF1942/BFV exes did that , what i did was just add the original exe next to cracked one in the same directory , and change the cracked ( for example ) bf1942.exe to checksum bf1942.org ( included renamed original bf1942.exe ) and the cracked one would think nothing is changed , cheap solution .

It needs the original legit 1.0001 exe not the 'fixed' hatred one. Its like that for the majority of games, always has been.

Ok I'm inclined to believe you that this is a widespread occurence in pc games since I only play less than 5 new games a year. But I also use a ton of pc apps and I always use the built-in "check for update" or just update from a setup file and I don't think I've ever come across this in apps, not in a few years at least. (I don't have to revert back to original exes)

Wich one did you get? there's seven different endings all in all with five bad endings when you meet the monolith and two good endings if you follow the main objective about Strelok.

@dzjepp - you must be lucky...if a game or app uses a cracked exe then 99.9999% of the time you will need the original exe to be able to update. it has been this way for years mate....if you havent come across it before then you must be very very flukey mate. most that use internal updaters will either refuse or update incorrectly. This is the same for most apps or progs aswell as games.
always always always backup any file before overwriting them with a crack. i just rename ****.exe to ****.ex!

If i remember correctly, an enemy is wearing that gun, thats why its moving over the map. If you can't see it in that pic it'is because he's in the tunnels underground. try to get down and search for it.

Hope that help

Thx for the tip but no luck yet Sad
The problem is, the target on minimap is stationary (it's location, not a person).

Should I take the job from barman first? (take second key from Borov, who I actually killed while searching for that fooking gun Confused )

The gun is underground, in the tunnel (with the burning cars). In a big red container.

It's been discussed here like 10 times or more.

Yeah, there are loads of electric anomalies barring the way. But you should have a suit that provides protection from them by now.

Thats the point I guess, if you don't put the effort in you get a shit ending. I got the good one BTW, where you get to meet the real entity behind the creation of the Zone, then you get to make a choice again which dictates which of the two good endings you get.
