Well, I like pirate theme in games a lot. I started to think about the best, and
the not so well known ones available today. Recommend and suggest some great pirate- or other "old-sea" games!
Patrician III - Quite simply the best "old sea" game, It has everything you basically need, Hire pirates, Develop towns, Smuggle goods and people, Build a business empire, Trade with the new world, Follows real economic models and is very addicting + realistic, Easily the most deep game of it's type,
Port Royale 2 - Like patrician more trading and town development based, but where patrician is more towards creating a business empire and advancing through the ranks to become the merchant prince this is more about pirates, Corairs, Hidden tressure and privateers,
Both games are made by asceron makers of Sacred, have great 2d graphics, nice interfaces and are really immersive, Also a lot deeper then your usuall pirates clone.
If you don't mind a more steady puzzle game as above any of the monkey islands are great, and a recent game called Destination: Treasure Island which was fun even if it's a little easy.
i am into the new pirates game :"Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End" - the ingame movies looks like fun to me and it should be out soon like 1-2 from today weeks:)

Looks like total shit because he scaled it from a smaller picture. Not saing it looks good to begin with, but hell. Thats just him fucking it up even more.

actually if he'd resized it from a smaller picture the pixels wouldnt be so defined, it would just be a blurry fucking mess. try it yourself.
