They were 50 yards away. You CANNOT blame the parents. Well only sightly you can. But the onus is on the arse hole(s) that took her. It comes to a point when you blame a parent when they can't leave their children in the safety of their own beds.

It is not right but sometimes white middle class pretty kids who go missing get more attention. Remember Jon Bonnet Ramsey. White middle class women who are raped or murdered get more media coverage as well then lets say single women of minority from a poor neighborhood.
This is how mass murders like Robert pickton can murder up to 80 women and not even be noticed. He went for the weakest ones in society.
I wish her family well in finding her. Regardless why she did or didn't get media attention, a missing child must be sheer hell to deal with. The hardest thing in life I would imagine. More than death.

Social wise I'd disagree. I would say it's in the British mentality that a cute (and my god is she a cute kid) gets more media attention. It's also I'm proud to say in the British mentality that the reward of £2.5 million won't make a blind bit of difference.
Almost all rewards to catch criminals especially crimes against children go unclaimed.

I don't know about you guys but 2.5 mill wouldn't make a difference to me if I had inside information. I wouldn't even feel comfortable claiming it. I would donate it to a child find charity. Something to help kids.
I wonder what the stats of claimed rewards are here for missing people. I know crime stoppers gives them out but that is mostly for drug stuff me thinks.

Well the police is doing a good job in trying to find her. There is soooooooooo much media coverage about this that i stopped reading newspapers...
Jenni I heard that UK newspapers are accusing our police of being incompetent.. That's not quite true, and I really hope you people don't believe everything you read on the news.
I just hope she appears and that the bastard gets a strong punishment, but since our laws suck alot when it comes to jail time (max you get is 25 years, even if you kill 1000 babies) i doubt that will happen.

50 yards is far enough....Leaving your children alone in a room is far from good parenting anything could happen and thats not including the pedo's of the world...Sadly we live in a sick world so nowhere is safe..

I'm going to have to agree. I'd be to paranoid even letting my kids (if I had any) play in a private fenced back yard without keeping an eye on them. |

I used to take my friends son 7-8ish into the bathroom stall at MacDonalds just because of all the scummy people and crack heads.
I have a good backyard for kids. Huge fence plus no alley, just another backyard.

i feel sorry for the kid unless shes been taken by someone who cant have kids of there own , maybe if thats the case she would get cared for properly and the attention she deserves.
what kind of self centred retards leaves 3 kids alone in a hotel room so they can go out and have a meal together?
if one of your kids went missing then surely you would not let your other 2 kids leave your side? but on the news when you see them they barely ever have there other 2 kids with them WTF?
what is the fucking point of taking your kids on holiday if all you seem to want is time to your selfs?
why couldnt they have paid for child care atleast so they could go and have there stupid meal together with peace of mind.
i dont know why every news program on TV trys to make them look like perfect parents when its obvious they were far from the caring parents there made out to be.
it would be a different story entirely if one of the kids had died from a fall , fried them self on a plug socket or something. but its okay because she was snatched! it should be illegal to leave kids unattended for any length of time

Actually they face the risk of prosecution here in Portugal for being negligent and leaving the children alone.

The scary thing is, if they kept checking back in half hour intervals...then it looks likely that the bastard singled out the little girl and was timing his move.

It probably takes less then 30 seconds to snatch a child of that age, they were alone for the majority of the time so he could have just been taking an opportunity. Yet I agree that it isprobably more likely some planning was involved.
Still the parents are negligent for leaving their 3 young children alone like that, they were even too fucking cheap to hire a sitter from the hotel.

30 second intervals is to much with kids that age, if you have kids of your own you will no what im talking about. |
At 4 years old she was the oldest as well....it's just absolutely insane that they'd leave them.
I don't have kids myself but my little nieces and nephews have slept over at our house, and even though they're here at my mum and dads nearly every day, at night it's still a strange house/bed to them. They still wake up crying and going walk abouts, even without kidnapping there's still a big chance they could of hurt themselves in other ways.

I think you might be missing the point.. Yes you are right, thousands if not millions of children go missing everyday and don't get media attention. But surely any media attention is a great thing..
You're acting like this is some kind of competition between the kids.. "why is this one getting a head start".. For god sake, is it not a good thing that people are helping? Maybe its unfair, but its not a bad thing.
