Is i just me or is that guy riding a stuffed horse? I dont know why Deer Hunter games always have to look so dead, even before you start shooting stuff.

IMHO hunting games are about as lame as fishing games, go enjoy the great outdoors ya nerds!

Qontact it would be cool for people to do mods but the modders have to figure out what file scheme the game is using for there graphics. EA Sports for example, see how theres mods for MVP Baseball and NBA Live? those people found out the file scheme used for the graphic files, and for modders to do the same for deer hunter they have to do the same. Overall, this looks like another fun game for hunting fans, and another ole game for collectors.

Why hunt animals if you can hunt people? I much prefer Operation Flashpoint or a WWII game. Vietnam games will do also.

It's the aspect just of exploring and enjoying the environment that would me get to play these games...because in here we don't have that kinda beautiful environment...just city...but until now the graphics of these games have been bad, maybe this will change with this title..

Wtf, why, because it doesn't have self shadowing or something.

I like this game very much, it is just as good as the earlier Deer Hunters. Maybe a little slow engine, but quite nice.

My vote is
9/10

Nice release too.

No..... because the attention to detail is shit. most things are static too. i mean surely in a game with little action they go go overboard on creating a beautiful a nice engine to make the time pass a bit more.

But you didn't even have it when you made that comment, so how could you have known that everything was static.

static.... i.e they dont move, leaves dont move, the grass isnt that interactive either with the weather.

the grass moves, and I could swear the trees moved with the wind in Deer Hunter 2004. Streams, rivers have animations, the sun and weather is dynamic of sorts. It's okay game I feel, I would prefer it spent more time on the enviroment and interactivity, more atmosphere and the like but it's a good game regardless (2004 that is, though this looks awfully similar).

Dude, you have no fucking idea what your talking about. The tree's move with the wind and the grass moves also. Tree branches part when you walk thru them and so do bushes. You leave footprints when there is mud. Water runs thru the stream. Animals leave prints to track. Play the game before you open your mouth!

wtf u talking about static ???

The leaves move, individual branches of trees move, the trees sway to the wind, rivers flow.

It's got some of the most immersive vegetation environments ever seen in a game.

*whips out banjo and chewing tobacco* Yeehaw!! I think that's kinda the market they're aiming for with these titles Very Happy

Just kiddin heh.

Anyhow, I made the mistake of letting my father play the previous version of the series...damn that was a bad idea, couldn't get my comp back for hours. Was kinda amusing watching him trying to figure out how to aim effectivley with the mouse though Smile

The environment in the previous title looked decent/good, but to me it felt kinda "dead" for some reason, dunno why. However, if you're and avid hunter and whatnot, prolly will enjoy this one. Its just not my thing though.

Deer vs. Rifle = Dead Deer
Deer vs. Bow = Probably a dead deer.

Show some balls and take out the deer via hand. *Listens to silence* Thought not, ya pansies Smile

Never understood the whole argument of sportsmanship so many always tout about. Only weapon the buck has is himself, no projectiles whatsoever, so fight him fairly at least Surprised

I'm having some problems getting this game to work. All I get when starting it is: "Could not init graphics" and the logfile only has these lines:

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
LOG file "Game.LOG" created in 09/30/04 15:58:42
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

ASPEN Engine v4.5 (RELEASE)
[DEBUG] Using application explicit settings data.
Pentium IV processor detected...
WinNT/2k/XP detected...
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
LOG file finished in 09/30/04 15:59:01
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

My specs are:
AMD64 3000+
ATI Radeon 9800PRO

I have direct x 9.0c installed and all other games works perfectly.

Does anyone know how to solve this problem?
It's not a bad disc or anything, because it works on my friends computer.
