Why , devs and reviewers do it . People who get sent pre orders a few days early . Shops selling one or two days before release
Everything is speculation , seeing how most create a save and log achievements . There would be no point playing games early if your afraid of the ban hammer .

I mean for fucks sake ?!?
Why call it Shadowrun ?? When it has absolutely nothing related to the previous game, except being made by the same studio ???
Oh and Masterjuba fcuk off and never reply to anything I write |
that imbecile and his fps problem, grow the fuk up |
Ok Eliz I'm not going to bite ..... I do have a problem with too many FPS, but hey I knew what I was buying when I got the 360 so that is my fault .... I do still enjoy my 360 when it's working .....
The only thing that pissed me off with this game is that it was a great Action RPG game for the SNES, why change it to a FPS when there are hardly any Action RPGS for the 360 but loads of FPS ...... Ok if the game is great as a FPS that's good too, but why not change the name as it has got no relevance at all to the original Shadowrun game apart from being made by the same studio ..... Call it a different name, then you won't get grumpy old bastards like me complaining |
dude, shadowrun is an old TABLETOP role-playing game and this new game is called shadowrun because it is set in the same world.

Well, the game was fun for an hour or so, but without multiplayer it got boring fast.
The graphics were nice and I liked the tech-weapon-magic stuff, after each round you're given money to buy tech, magic or weapons, similar to how Counter Strike works, I liked that, it was nice.
Overall, I think the game is great, if played Multiplayer. I'm gonna get this on PC and play it multiplayer there instead.

Ok, I have to admit I'm not that quite of a geek to have played Tabletop Rpg's but I checked on Wikipedia and you're right it was first a Tabletop Rpg .... but if you read down on the Wikipedia page to the Video game section it had this to say ....
Video games
Three video games have been developed based on the Shadowrun franchise, the first in 1993 was an action RPG titled Shadowrun developed by Australian software company Beam Software (now Melbourne House) for the SNES console. The second also titled Shadowrun was for the Sega Mega Drive in 1994 developed by US company BlueSky Software. The third game was an interactive fiction adventure game developed by Japanese company Group SNE in 1996 for the Mega CD console, again titled Shadowrun.
A fourth and latest (in production) game is for the Xbox 360 and Windows Vista, with the working title Shadowrun developed by US company FASA Interactive owned by the Microsoft Corporation, which is also producing the title. However, many fans of the roleplaying game have not appreciated the major changes to story, races, and magic in the 2007 title and the new Shadowrun is an FPS (First Person Shooter), which enraged many fans of the RPG series. The publishers of the Shadowrun roleplaying game have issued a statement saying, "Microsoft rewrote the timeline and setting for this game, so it is not in continuity with the tabletop RPG. It may be more accurately described as a game loosely based on Shadowrun."
So as you can see my point was why keep the name if has nothing to do with the Tabletop Rpg or the video games it's famous for .... Kryons idea to call it "Baba The Chimpanzee Fighter" would be a better name for it

They did a good job in capturing some of the Shadowrun feel, and I don't mean simply by calling your aimbot a Smartlink. But it really would have been better as an RPG, even Deus Ex style fps (since that seems the only genre the 360 can run). As far as I can tell there's no buy macros, so if I plan on playing a single archtype (elf, WR, SL, Smoke, SMG) I can't preset anything to autobuy the parts I need when I have the cash.
Also, lack of Matrix kills it. Look at the CS mod Dystopia on how to integrate a cool "matrix like" hacking system. Create maps with barriers, sentry guns, alarms, etc and then make a Decker class that can run through the Matrix fighting off other deckers and hostile ICE.
MS/FASA really blew it (like anyone expected differently). The online could be fun, but since no one would actually buy this filth, there's no point. This sucks
