Rome: Total War is definetly on my "must-buy"-list.
I'm also going to purchase another copy of UT2004, that new edition which is coming out soon (since i need a cd-key for both of my computers, and because it's such great game).

Far Cry is one of the best games ever, alot of effort and recources were used to build such a project. And they do deserve thier money, the've done a long and fun game.
Your one sided, you consider only RPG's good while all other games YOU DON'T like are usless, and devs don't deserve money. That's not correct. |
Yeah I see your point and you are partly correct.. Im sure Farcry is a fantastic game, but I quickly became bored of FPS not because they are crap..but because its always America saves the world from evil tyranny...etc etc
Im not having a dig at America here, but I would love to see a FPS where you played as say..An islamic terrorist and the main object of the game was to kill Bush..be a lot of fun i reckon.

Actually I held out from UT2004. I just don't see how MUCH different it could be from the previous incarnations. The Demo was good but not OMFG good.
Must Buy:
Rome Total War (Cause I just want to.)
Dawn of War (for Online)
Freespace 2 (cause my CD 1 is corrupt.)
KOTOR 2 (Its KOTOR 2 nuff said)
Dragon Age (But thats a LONG way of.)
Baulder’s Gate 1 (my CD3 is corrupt.)
On the line about Half-Life 2. HL 1 (only played the Demo.) was ALRIGHT but I don't much fancy Sci-fi thrillers (mostly because I am a pansy. But Doom 3 wasn't scary much in the beginning so I will have to see.)
i7 - 2500k
8GB RAM
AMD XFire 6950s

Ah. If you bought the recent PC Gamer with Dungeons & Dragons on the cover it came with the full version of Baulder's Gate.
Recently bought games:
Fable
Burnout 3
Doom 3
ESPN NFL 2k5
I think that's pretty much it for since August. I do have though HL2 and Halo 2 pre-ordered. Probably gonna pre-order either GTA: San Andreas or MGS3 soon. Or get Call of Duty: United Offensive or ESPN NHL 2k5.

the PC game scene is too tough to judge as the demo's in most cases vary from the final game and places like EBgames won't let ya return a PC game anymore if your unsatisfied with it , due to the game copy problems only console games can be returned , rome total war was worth it after i tried reloaded's release and Toca rd2 i knew it would be good, soldiers, RON T&P, PS2 games -Test drive EOD and Burnout 3 and of course DRIV3R are all great, I've d/l 15 PC games and only purchased
4 thats sad, just goes to show ya how they hype or over rate crappy games alot... have fun

Amen, buying software that turns out to suck is pointless, demos have too many limits. Even if its good, how many games are really still worth playing even a couple months later? Maybe one or two a year, thats in a good year.

k Im an RPG fan, but i do agree with supporting small developers who give us decent games, so they can continue to do so

Uhm.. this policy is okay too I suppose if ya have spare $, but just buying it to try it or something thats mediocre.. nah.
I actually bought SC4..Never will I buy another EA game.
I wanted to get the extras and stuff for it, I suppose I'd buyPR2 if I hadnt downloaded it.

Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War.
I considered buying Rome but it's just not worth it with the shitloads of problems and bugs plaguing the game at the moment. I'll grab that if they ever fix it (6+ months, knowing Creative Assembly's past Patch releases) and when it's cheap.

I buy games that really entertains me for more then a month. Like a few days ago I bought WarCraft: Frozen Throne. And 3 months ago I bought Diablo 2 + Expansion. Theese games are really old, but the fact that they are still good makes it worth buying.
