yeah right. so in a near futur we all have to buy originals to go online. the homebrew they will give us in exchange for some more brand publicity cause they have thought to have some great 360 launch years which havent become true
which games have the best sales figures? those who have a great online community. check 2nd life, wow, etc. now everyone îs playing backups on their console. if they can eliminate this, they will make definately more money than they are now doing.

I think they were recently able to narrow the loss per unit to around 40 dollars, but thats for the Premium kit. I'd suspect they take a larger beating with the Elite (new hdmi mobo, 100GB HD) no matter how much you argue about PC component prices etc.
At this stage Nintendo is the only one making a killing with the Wii hardware. It's last-gen stuff (gamecube 1.5) stuffed into a smaller case. Especially the GPU is almost exactly the same and the CPU is a mere twice as fast as the predecessor, which is amusing when we are used to 20-50 fold performance increases between generations. Only nintendo can pull that off. More ppwer to them (pardon the pun).

actually it was reported on gameindustry.biz and somether sites that they just got production costs down enough to start making a profit on the hardware. They expect Halo 3 to bring them into the black and to finally catch up and the buisness to be profitable by 08

I installed IX yesterday on a fresh new box and I'm back online. My old box got blacklisted, But my account was still active. Does what it says and you cannot play unpatched games. So far looks good!

What are yoiu talking about? Copied games works perfectly fine even after you´re banned. The only thing the update does is banning your console from LIVE, NOTHING else.
And future games will work on older FW´s.

Ace is pointing on the fact that bad copies (ie non stealth backups) wont boot on iXtreme fw
i would not call it useless for futur consoles if will work. but it will indeed not unban your currently flagged console

exactly what i meant, i for one wont update the FW anymore
Unless there is a real good reason to do it regarding offline things.
i might buy a second box should downloadable content for games like GTA4 be worth getting.
besides, downloadable content is saved on the HD.
So what if you get the downloadable content for a game through a legit box.
then connect the HD to a flashed box.
would that work, or does the ban work through saved game profiles or other things that might be saved on the HD?

I think I heard somewhere that everything you download on the HD is then tied to the console, OR it's tied to the username. If it's the latter then you can connect your HD to a legit box and login with your gamertag and download the stuff, but it will probably not work if you download it with your friends gamertag.

ok but the thing is, i didnt had gold anymore, didnt do the latest update...but the only thing i have is i can't connect to xbox live and have the code, dont have the mssg from ur banned blabla...so with IX fw i maybi can get back online with my box?

I am just going to stick with 5.2a. I am unbanned and dont play on live anyway. Only thing I used Live was to download new trailers in HD. And of course 5.x has more features like SL backups, non-stealth, etc.I will just ride my luck till they ban me.
