They are suppose to be as there are only so many people in a family at once you know Wink

What you should have done is select the "Manage All Settlements" at the start of the campaign and you would have been without those problems. Wink

One thing that bugs me with the game though is the damn time limit. Like I am going to be able to take Rome in 20 mins...

there arent any geforce3 mx cards, the mx cards came out with the gf2 and the gf4.

and about the 1% difference, that is more or less correct. 8x can even be slower at some things.
same thing with pci express now, its even slower than 8x agp in many things even though its theoretical bandwith far exceeds the bandwith of the agp.
the reason for this is the rest of out hardware, we simple do not have hardware that can take full advantage of agp 8x and thats why its hovering around agp 4x speeds.
something can be good in theory but suck in reality. the volari duo from XGI is a good example of this Laughing

and about the sdram vs ddr.
out hardware are capable of taking full advantage of ddr while its not when it comes to agp 8x and above, thats why this compare is useless.

ok ok you got me, i dont know squat about the agp speeds, it sounds nifty tough ;D
so i will satisfy myself now by ASKING something. What does the "guard" command actually do? Do the troops try to stay in the immediate area or do they try to hold formation a bit longer? I havent really bothered to even try it so.. thx Very Happy

i think its cuz ur other army has a general.. thats why ai is controlling it

Well I started a new campaign so im trying to take over... the world as it seems, Ive gotten better as Im not always in debt (ya i was being stupid like making a huge army with like 1 settlement)

Kroma, how many times has it happened? Ive never ever had that problem, Ive always been able to control my men, cant help you there, sorry.

Can someone explain to me also, I wasnt paying attention, what the fuck does WAIT do? You get 3 WAITS...... does it like... change the time of day? what does it do? I click it and clouds change so.... .... does it make my men go down from "Fresh" to "warmed up" or something.... Question

loser-man : yes, wait changes time of the day and the weather.. but after a x amount of 'waits' you have to pull the attack Razz you can only 'wait' if you attack.


That question about can't control, someone other mentioned it.. it's reinforcements, sometimes it takes long time for them to get to the battlefield (you can see them at the horizon tho, flags etc), sometimes they're fast.. Dunno what the factor is of them taking long or short time to get there.. but when they get across the red line border (represents the borders of the battlefield ^^) they are all yours to command Wink

Goddamn what a great game, too bad I have been so unlucky.. Second time I restarted the campaign I choosed to build-up all settlements (took really long time) to get a great popularity of the ppl living there, so they don't do something stupid like revolt because they would have been killed right away anyways Wink Anyway, when I got further in the gameplay, exterminated the greeks and the macedons I had full trust of the senate, oh well ! at last I thought.. commanding some of my armies back to begin the civil war, the turn before I was going to declare war I had all my armies ready for a big fight.. and so I did click turn, guess what happens... my fucking faction leader dies and I have to start over again with gaining trust from the senate.. God how annoying ! So now I have ended upp with shitloads of land (dacia, thrace, macedon, numibia, carthage, greek, etc.) and 500 000 in denarii, and of course when I'm at the top again... my people in the settlements where greek once were has been revolting and my trust sinks from 10 to 8 or 9 etc..

I have one question... can you declare war whenever you want ? I mean to like.. any other of the families ? like brutii etc. Or do I have to wait till I have 10/10 of the senate and declare war to the senates faction ? I know I can't atleast declare war them before I have 10/10... but is it the same if I exterminate the other families ? (to get the same effect attacking the senates to become emperor) and what does it mean to be emperor, is it just that all other families dies and you get their land ? It's a pity if it is.. It would be fun if it contained more of the system it already has - when coming to the missions etc, that if you are the emperor you can demand the other families to take that land etc... but I guess it's just you-get-their-land-shit Razz

I conquered Rome when the people trusted me enough. The Senate hated me, I had a bad score with them on popularity.
Its fair because I was the most hard-working faction leader of the Romans. I conquered and whiped out the Spanish, Gauls, Germans and Britons with only 1 general. "The Mighty" was his nickname. He died in my last campaign in Russia of aging. Too bad.

There is a glitch to get rid of the timer. If you do a historical battle and then start your campaign the timer will be removed for all your battles.

Well I don't want to relay (sp?) on a glitch to play the game the way I want to. The should just add the feature again to change the campaign battle time limit on or off again in the preference file. Its funny though, they had the option to turn it off in the demo, but in the full game that option is gone...

It's not just 'gone' they've actually put in a check to make sure you haven't manually turned it on!!

Madness, especially so since you can't play night battles (etc) due to the short timespan, any effort to switch it on is annoyingly fiddly with text files and alt-tabbing and I read you have to do it each time you load Sad

Conquest? You mean the campaign? TW has never allowed that in multi. At least not as far as I remember (I didn't play alot of shogun, but loved it.)

I have some questions:

1. How do you find new generals, i have lots of armies by now but only 2 generals. I think i've read somewhere that you can buy them (using "bribe" with a diplomat) but that does only get me one or more troops. I know your daughters can mary one but that happens _very_ selldom and when it happens the character they want to mary doest have any attributes at all most of the time (i never want to become a father after playing this game!! Very Happy )

2. I have around 15 towns by now but very few of them allows me to build anything in them (perhaps 2-3 of them, from the begning i could build in all of them). It doesnt seem to matter if i have a governor and/or a general present (i have the cash). I'm not using "automanage".

The game is fun but the AI and the movement of your troops in the battlefield is very lacking, they act like complete idiots sometimes, especially the cavallery.

I also wish that the battlefield would look a bit bloodier after a fight Very Happy I mean ten thousand people dead and not a hint of blood?! Wink
