That site is not the official Bungie/Halo2 site and the other one only link to the Fallingleaf site that tries to make it compatible with XP using some tool called Alky wich seems to emulate Vista functions and DX10 or such.

basicaly what I had was xp installed read on the internet a little. So what I did was installed partition magic & took the second partion I had on my main hd & made a small primary partion of about 20 gb. After that rebooted with the vista dvd & installed without any difficulty. Once the installation was done when I would reboot it automatically went to the selection of which os I wanted. You will notice one for vista & xp (though the xp is named differently & there is a way to edit that in vista but you will have to look it up as I did not do that step). so result is 1 hard drive 2 primary partions 15 GB for XP & 20 GB for Vista & one extended(logic partion) were I install my games for vista & xp (separate folders one for xp & one for vista) anyway system is running very stable on both ends no problems & no conflicts.

the only thing i can think of thats causing g all this problems is that users are trying to install it on a vista that is not fully activated...
other then that guess its nuked

doesnt work, i'm using vista ultimate 32bit. vista it self says its fully activated! and i think the game will work with an unactivated vista too but that doesnt matter at the moment.
i also checked the secondary logon service (set it to manual and restartet it) but the installer always quits to desktop... hoping for a fix!
