Well, since you're clearly a genius and you know that XP is the end all god of operating systems....
I'm running an Asus A8N-E with 2xSata2 drives in a raid0 config. Feel free to try and solve the riddle of finding the drivers for this one. Remember, I don't just need the Sata driver, I need both the Sata and the Raid on a single floppy. Can't find em? Neither could I.
Enjoy your outdated operating system. When hardware pushes forward, old operating systems don't go with it.

Nice game, runs great on my new game PC at 1920x1200 2x FSAA and everyting maxed out.
If they release a patch this soon for the game, you can bet it's only an update of the copy protection and nothing else.

Use XP is bullshit, works fine here under Vista.

i use xp, i have last version (all other game work for me.... even with starforce) i have not alcohol or other and the game don't launch or laucnh sometime !

In my case problem was Outpost Firewall blocking dirt.exe. Exe is asking to connect so many times that caused lagging and suttering. Temporary solution is unplugging lan cable with internet conenction.
Time to time i got also problem with dosc verification, but another try and game is starting.
SPDT 1.47 and DT 4.09HE on WinXP.

here its the same, but its not a big deal, its not that you have to restart the system, just another try:)
game is nice, actualy its the first game from the series that let you finish races lol..didn't like the old versions :/ were too hard with very bad handeling (in my opinion)
graphic is nice on 1152x864 (p-4 3.2, 2gb ram, 8800gts 320mb) all options on ultra and the fps are like 20-30.
also there are nice dirty move in the races like short cuts and agresive driving  |

Has anybody tried yet if mount & play & YASU still work with the patch?
My only issue so far is that the steering is way to sensitive with my Logitech Rumble pad 2. It doesnt even make much of a difference how I set the "Dead Zone".

SF version gets updated from 4.70.9.3 to 4.70.6. Haven't checked yet if game runs of not.
Edit:
You need to reboot again to update SF drivers.

im not a genius , XP is the best for games now ask anyone moron. Since people are having troubles with the game under Vista...why not to try XP ? and theres no DX10 games, so no need for Vista smart guy.. im just trying to help here .
for the noobs the game works here on XP with last daemon tools nothing else, so you are doing something wrong...
about the patch...
* Ultra graphic settings modified slightly to be usable with hardware of today.
* Improvements in performance of both internal audio, and external OpenAL driver
* Corrected the minor miss spelling of Portuguese in the game.
* Fixed a bug that caused the game to crash when regaining focus from another application, or the desktop.
nice, many things fixed already.. so anyone got more links to the patch?????? anyone tried to run the game with the patch ??

Either way they are sending out emergency codes left and right to the people that bought the game. If you look in that forum almost every topic is people that can't launch the game.

ummhh.. theres only 2 threads about that.. and its about 5 users only ? lol, and by the looks the problem is Vista maybe some bug with SF AND VISTA wont load the game, and they must have alchool 120% and dameon on, so the protection detects this and they can run it...
the game runs under XP with last daemon tools, that im 100% shore even with patch 1.1!!

The game works for me, but it might be worth a try. It appears they make you send them a error log and based on what that says give you a key.
Edit:
Man you insisting that it works for everybody because it works for you is retarded.....
And there are at least 5 threads on that first page with people that can't load and yes one of them is dedicated to vista 64. Either way, the game works for me so i'm not sure why i am arguing, lol

Started working for me too after SPTD update (1.47), thanks for that. edit: still have to unmount/mount sometimes, or it doesn't work.
Same bug as in demo for me with graphics, need to turn on Geometry Instansing so that I can see menu.
