But that counts for everyone...stop the flaming or I'll get very pissed!

now i know why Ground Control 2 is not selling; went to Fry's today, and after seeing the cover to DOW, then GC2, i decided that GC2's artwork is totally gay, with that fruity commando lame ass avatar on the cover people are just scared off cause it looks low budget and kiddy. thye should have put a transport popping off smokers surrounded by assault troopers, to a backdrop of a devastated city...

DOW on the other hand...

awesome!

wow, just got back from plating mission 3, first use of the dreadnoughts! looks like mission 4 is gonna be orks.

i love the squads of this game. like posted elsewhere, a squad starts with 4-5 space marines. by upgrading the base, you get access to more and more upgrades for them. the full strength squads have around 12 men, 1 unit may be promoted to sargent, and you can attach 1 hero unit. the real beauty though is the weopen upgrades, of which there are 4 types.

1. flamethrower - good close range, breaks opponent units morale
2. chain gun - long range rapid fire gun, real cool. when your units have these, they take a second to get ready. when your units have moved into place, you will see a brown status bar above them count down quickly, indicating that the gun is ready, and they start blasting away.
3. plasma guns - medium range, seem really good against infantry, not sure about armor yet.
4. missile launcher - long-range rockets launchers mount a devasting attack against enemy buildings, and are also good for breaking up enemy formations.

so far in the game, you may have 4 different gun upgrades per squad. when you upgrade, one of your units guns will be replaced.

there are many other RTS style upgrades, ie improved range, improved speed, larger squads, ect ect

i do not think you can configure your keys in this game, which bugs me because for mouse view you need to hold the alt key down, dangerously close to the windows key, and to mouse scroll you hold down the wheel button. i think i would like this reversed since i rarely use the mouse scroll.

The 1.01 patch does not update the copy-protection scheme. (Securom 5.03.06.0043) I know cos I'm playing singleplayer and multiplayer with the no-cd crack.

this game is simply awesome, but the control options are abysmal... and is the single-player campaign really only 11 missions?

seemed really short

Just finished the game on Hard. Relic, I want a addon ASAP! I wasnt expecting it to be this good. One of the best games of this year together with Call of Duty United Offensive. This game has the same kind of intensity as Call of Duty has. 9 out of 10. The pathfinding can be very bad at times, the predator is a little overpowered and no game is perfect so a nice score. Very Happy

BTW How is Homeworld 2 for a RTS? Is it possible for a not so experienced RTS player like me to finish it?
