Well.. probably fileplanet just set things up so when they receive the keys they would already have the file on their servers ! They never let anyone download the file ... but someone hacked the link and spread it out !

Its more likely that the file is being hosted for the closed beta.. the link wasn't hacked, it was simply handed out.

8800 gtx win xp latest drivers no problems. Me thinks this problem is Vista related since Quake wars uses Open Gl

Hey btw. If you want to enable the console by pressing the tilde key then you should add this in the properties of the ETQW shortcut
+seta com_allowConsole "1"
Now if someone could figure out how to launch a map from that console it woul be great, I tried to use Doom 3 commands but they don't seem to be working...

You can't, they removed the commands needed for it.
