i dont wanna get into an arguement about this, but i was just refering to, " a situation like this", not specifically starforce, just that if the game gets released and there's no good crack or there's a newer protection, or just anything preventing me from playing a "downloaded" version, i would definitley BUY Crysis

What a sad joke for a game. This is what you get if devs develop for all platforms.
Graphics: Very good - nothign wrong there
Sound: Also good
Physics: What physics? The cars just float somehow over the surface. No believable driving or physics at all. The cars just wobble around somehow. _I am useing a wheel but if you wanna play this get an xbox controller because that is what this game was made for.
This is a huge letdown. Thgis game feels worse then 5 year old rally sims.
It's just dumbed down for consoles i fear. Loads of cars , loads off diverent landscapes - no rally sim though.
If you think this game is good i suggest you go get Flatout 2. Flatout doesn't claim to be a sim but it is a lot of fun. This is neither.

If you want a simulation, get Richard Burns Rally. Its the most realistic Rally game you can get. Too bad he died. RIP

If that error is the same as "Program xxx has caused and error and must be closed" in XP, you have too much overclock/too little voltage on you CPU.

depending on what socket your sempron is running on... it's not supported... cause it has no SSE2...

This Dirt tweaker prog! I never messed with the install dir.. but I don`t have a data dir ?
The prog is looking for
C:\Program Files\Codemasters\DiRT\cars\n12\data\cars\n12\n12.csv
My csv file is here - C:\Program Files\Codemasters\DiRT\cars\n12
How can I fix that?

Another stupid question...
I tried ( a little bit to fast ) online play and i just entered some digits as username and password.
Well online play works ... but now i cannot remove or change my online name.
Anybody any idea ?
BTW.. does the controls suck ?? Or is it really the settings ?
I play with logitech rumblepad but steering almost allways ends in overturning.

At first look this game is pure poo, but apparently its very modable. I've already fixed those brake values and lowered tiregrip.
-edit- eh I spoke too soon, I lost all my hope since driving itself can't be fixed...

yep, with logitech rumblepad 2 the controls are very sensitive, i posted my setting on page 13 of this topic, for me those settings did helped a little to control it better, but far from optimal
fact is, if it doesnt run very smooth, it will make it extra difficult to control it with this sensitive way of controlling the car, i hope they fix something in the game to adjust sensitivity in a next patch, cuz now you are not really able to adjust that.
anyways, i guess its a logitech rumblepad 2 issue for this game, but for other games, this controller is very nice to play with
consoles have been invented for emptyheads

Funny thing is this pile of crap gets somewhat decent reviews.
This game is poo!
The steering makes it absolutely unplayable.
It's as far from a sim as one could imagine but still not fun if looked at as aracade racer.
Just bad - verybad.

I have the 360 pad and some of the race types control really badly. There is almost a added edge for non 360 pad people -- because not only do you have to get your controls right but then if you don't tune your car proper for the track you will be fucked all over again and it would seem like it's the controls even though it may be the car tuning.
Just my .0000002 monkey balls.

I use thrustmaster FF GT Wheel
I agee with tihkal. Controls not so bad as you all say. Maybe you really have to tune your car settings to drive normal.
I played this game some days using wheel controller and it was difficult at fist, but i've trained and now i drive well, just completed some Career mode levels even on Pro. The race realy depends on car settings.. and forget about automatic transmission or tune it on every track. I liked this game as "simulation", and the grafix pretty good as well.

I play with a wheel myself. And if the totally unbelievable physics are a problem with controllers or the car settings doesn't really matter. They are simply crap. Yes you can tweak the car so it gets drivable.
No you can't tweak the car to make it feel right or even get the thought this is a rally sim.
Game uninstalled and deleted. Back to live for speed and flatout 2.

I'm really enjoying DiRT, but then I let my brother play and he immediatley pointed out framerate problems. jumps between 30 and 60fps. and I don't mean numbers inbetween, it's pretty much only 30 or 60 fps.
anyone know what's going on here?
e6400 @ 2.4, 7600gt, 1gbram
settings ingame don't seem to matter, heck sometimes I get higher fps on higher settings?!
