And here I was wondering whether or not it's a good thing I can do an almost perfect impression of the darkness voice now, so much that I scared my 13 year nephew, that in of itself made the practice worthwhile.
I doubt overlord is as gripping though, seems too "friendly" and it's not that evil to sacrifice your own minions, it's doubtful it'll have 'it' which Dungeon Keeper had.

Dungeon Keeper was always tongue in cheek anyway, it's not like it's a true representation of evil. Overlord has the same atmosphere, what with the murdering and pillaging just think of it as a more action oriented Dungeon Keeper set above ground.

Well the impression I got from the demo is that it's very linear, sure Dungeon Keeper had you complete level after level aswell, but the difference was that you could pretty much choose how to build your dungeon, in Overlord it seems you can only go one route and do the same things over and over.

It was only the demo remember, most games hold your hand for the first few sections. Remember the first level (the demo level) of Hitman: Bloodmoney? It was linear as hell, yet didn't represent the full games freedom in the slightest.
Still, I think you're right, this game will be much more linear then Dungeon Keeper, yet i'm sure we'll get more freedom then we were given in the demo.

Yep, boring because this game actually requires a bit of a brain...unlike chasing cars and crashing them into trees.

hehehe. No offense... but it is no wonder why games are so dumbed down these days and linear.
