Keep the crap out of the game topic.

The following is a list of video cards that our R&D labs have tested in conjunction with NVIDIA and ATI, and have been confirmed to work.

If your card is not on this list, we will still try to provide support and help as much as we can, but there will be no guarantees that they will work. More cards will be added to this list as we finish testing.

NVIDIA (DirectX 9)
GeForce 6600
GeForce 7x00 series (7300 is not supported )
GeForce 8x00 series

Note: On Windows XP, please use ForceWare 162.15 beta or higher. For Vista, for now, the 158.45 drivers will work (though another, better version is coming "soon").

NVIDIA (DirectX 10, requires Windows Vista)
GeForce 8x00 series

Note: On Windows Vista, please make sure you're using ForceWare 160.04 beta (Dated June 13th) or later. Earlier versions make experience random crashes during multiplayer game play. You can get these from www.guru3d.com.

ATI (DirectX 9)
Radeon 1650
Radeon 1800
Radeon 1950

ATI (DirectX 10, requires Windows Vista)
None currently.

For R600 (Radeon HD2900, etc.) cards there is a hot fix from ATI:

Also the devs are on the official forums helping out so have a look at the board if your problem won't go away LINK

  • If your using an Amd XP or Sempron you won't be able to play it as it doesn't utilize SSE2.
  • Needs PS3.0
  • Make sure you have the most updated DX files
  • Just upgrade your fucking computer.

also make sure you meet THESE requirements..

Minimum:
Windows® XP
Intel® Pentium® 4 supporting HT technology or AMD Athlon™ 64 3500+ or greater
512 MB RAM (Windows XP) / 1 GB RAM (Windows Vista)
8.0 GB free disk space
640x480 minimum resolution
256 MB VRAM
DirectX®9.0c / Shader3.0*, NVIDIA® GeForce® 6600 or greater**
DirectSound compatible. DirectX®9.0c,
Mouse, Keyboard, Broadband connection (Internet connection required to play.)

Recommended:
Windows Vista™
Intel® Core™2 Duo or AMD X2
1 GB RAM (Windows XP) / 2 GB RAM (Windows Vista)
1280x720 or higher resolution
256 MB VRAM, NVIDIA® GeForce® 8600 or greater
Gamepad, Xbox 360™ Controller for Windows® <-- cause you'll lose 13 FPS if you don't use it. Rolling Eyes

* Operation not assured if VRAM is shared with Main Memory.
** NVIDIA® GeForce® 7300 is not supported.

lmao @ freon, ya, I'm quite amazed the thread hasn't been raped yet.

at @kratos, some people said they game runs A LOT better than the demo while some just say they can see the performance gain. Just make sure your using the latest drivers.

Ok... I'm downloading the game now... I'm using a Geforce Go 6600 (128mb and yes I know it sucks...lol) and the demo runs like crap for me (getting really bad fps and not playable). Anyway I wanted to try the full game to see if it is playable for me... Which driver version do you think I should use? Cheers. Wink

Not entirley sure if that Go is supported but these beta drivers were done for this game and god damn did they do wonders. Running everything I did on the demo with an extra 10-15FPS no slow downs..even in that snow part.

Yea well, the 162.15 beta driver wouldn't even install on my laptop unless I can get a modified inf from somewhere for it... Do you know any sites other than laptopvideo2go.com that provides support for laptop nVidia drivers?

Thx for the site. laptopvideo2go is a site which provides modified infs for nvidia laptop users since most of the original drivers released by nvidia do not support laptop versions nvidia graphics cards. ie. you need to replace the original inf with the modified inf in the driver folder in order to make the driver install on your machine.

Just tried omegadrivers but I don't think they have any support for nvidia drivers atm (only for ATI drivers)... Thx anyway. Wink

So the new beta driver 162.15 is specially made for this game ? Should I use it with my Geforce 7600 GS 512mb? Is this driver better for other games like.. Overlord? Because when i search for drivers to my graphicscard, the newest I find is 94.24 (http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_94.24.html) is that because it is an official driver and 162.15 is beta? I'm using XP Home Edition. Ciao

ya these beta drivers are what the devs were working on with nvidia during testing n shit which the kinks are still being worked out. The performance gain was very noticable on my 7900GS KO, but ya, download em and give em a run. I read it had some noticeable increase in some other games like Stalker (minor though) so ya it might help with overlord as well.

I just installed this game, here's my comp specs,

Evga 8800 GTX AC3 768Mb
Core2Duo@3.2Ghz
4Gb of Corsair Dominator@800Mhz
Windows Vista Ultimate x64

and I used following drivers which did wonders for that Call of Juarez benchmark,

158.42_forceware_winvista_64bit_international.exe

and Lost planet runs like total shit, in 1600x1200 with AA8x and Ani8x I am getting 14fps at most and after a while I just get a message my system cannot proceed to play the game cuz I do not meet the requirements and that I must change the settings:LOL:

If it don't run on my PC then it won't on 99% of any other computer out there. What Vista 64bit drivers do you suggest I try in order to get decent framerates? I see 32bit drivers listed but noone is talking about which 64bit drivers?

Update, just removed that 158.42 and installed the new beta which nvidia recommended for Lost Planet(158.45)and it still runs as shitty as before. Also, in this game there's no option for 1280x1024, when you select that the game won't run fullscreen, it will distort your image. All I can say is, thank God for pirating software cuz thats one title I'll gladly add to my list of download first then buy never:LOL:

doubleteaM - I had the exact same error. I installed 94.24 drivers for my 7950 GT, still the same error. Tried that beta junk from above, no dice. I uninstalled the beta, rebooted, installed 94.24 again and rebooted. Game now works. Don't ask me why or how, it just now works.

I would suggest uninstalling whatever you got, reboot, installed 94.24, reboot.

Vote Pro-Gun.

I got one stupid question, i have a really shitty pc (3000+,6600gt) , can i run the game, i know , it would be unplayable, but i just wanted to test it. A friend told me, that if you dont have the minimum requirements, the game wouldn´t start, is this true ?

btw: new pc is coming, but waiting for the quads to arrive Sad

I think it should run. I tested it on my laptop with a Geforce Go 6600 (128mb) and it started no problems. I can play the game smoothly in 640x400 with all settings on lowest possible... Sad I know it's kinda sad but still 10% of something is better than 100% of nothing... Razz

Well if you read the first post you would have seen the requirements and what is needed for the game to run.

Now saying you have a 3000+ Doesn't mean jack shit to anyone. What 3000+ is it? The AMD XP 3000+ or the AMD 64 3000+ ? if it's the XP your out of luck (read first post again) If you use the beta drivers and run everything on low at mabye 800x600 you should be fine. Min requirements is an AMD 64 3400+ so if you have teh AMD 64 3000 I dunno if it'll start or not or they just say that's the min CPU to use to be a happy player.

You won't be able to play it than. The game engine is coded to use SSE2 which the AMD XP's didn't have. So you'll need either a P4 or the AMD64 minimum to play it. if your REALLY tight on money then just upgrade to a socket 754 to use the AMD 64's. They blew the P4's out of the water and their dirt cheap now.

$36USD
AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Venice 2.2GHz Socket 754
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103035

mother board will cost you about the same as well Wink May not be the best upgrade but it def beats using that XP

.....well that's certainly better than what I gave ya lmao. 79xx's or x1xx's are just fine for now. Wait till some DX10 titles start comming out before you get your 8800, the GTS's are already down to 380USD stock clock here in the states and outside lost planet, the next DX10 game doesn't come out for another couple months so the price will go down even more by then.

Game starts just fine, but controls are mad. I cant change settings because selections scroll at warp speed. Same thing in DX9 and DX10 modes. Running on 32bit Vista business and I have Unleashed release. Specs for my rig are E6400, 8800GTS, P5B Deluxe and 2GB Ram. I had same problem with demo. Thanks for help in advance.
