Then that begs the question....what else could they have done? They played the "mobster" thing to it's hilt....what else did they have? A big gang movement in the US....there really isn't one that was as big and as widly publisized as "Crips and Bloods"....it was a national thing. I can't honestly think of another "big gang" mobsters hit America and shocked it....the 2nd big gang explosion was the "Crips and bloods" in the 90's....at least to my knowledge...by all means fill me in though.

Well yeah, guess it's just a difference of region then....you're swedish, so you didn't experience any of the stuff that happens in this game...
And yes I am black..lol...but I told you that I dont like the "urban" style...I just understand why they're using it....it's big...it's popular....
But, it's not a "style" the stuff in this game actually happened....sometimes right around the corner from me in LA....the crap you get up there in Sweden is just wannabes but where I live it's real, everyday.....so maybe you dont like it because it's a "style" to you like punk or grunge...but it's actually life out here...

I think that the Gangsta style looks cool.
So your gonna hate the game cos its got rap music in it??
what other gang / environment could you make up that you are thinking of??? they have done it all already I think...

i have already answered that.
my philosophy when it comes to games is. give the gamers what they want, dont change something that works, its just dumb.
a good example of this is megaman x7. capcom suddenly wanted to put some lame 3d levels in there and instantly it went crap delux after 6 games with pure 2d.
im not saying san andres will turn out to be crap, what im saying is that it could have been so much better.
the mafia theme worked in gta3 and vice city, why shuldnt it work in this new gta game?
the mafia like theme is something peope normally like. just look at scarface or the godfather which are two extremely famous movies.
and i have also said that the game will problary be fun anyway.

You could pretend that its like the Mafia theme if your that bothered about it.
Technically it will be almost just the same missions but your playing as a black Gangster.
Also, you have never played GTA:SA yet and you might end up liking being in the Gangster theme better than being in the Mafia type theme. (there mainly just the same eg Killing people, Drug dealing etc etc)
They probably chose the Gangster theme for where the game is set.
