Well, my PC just crashed due to being unable to import and completely fine exported .reg file. While attempting to import - Error - Keys in use- cant. So now I need to format XP.

Now, is it worth activating the 'system restore' feature? I have 3 drives. On all 3 or just the OS drive? I heard it takes up resources thats why I never enabled in first place.
But with windows programmed so poorly, I think I have no choice.

Let me know what you think. Thanks!

Just enable it on your OS drive unless you have them in RAID, I've got 3 HD's each with their own purpose but aren't affected by what happens on the OS drive other than losing the registry's to my games which just usually ask me for a key once started up again. If my system is in that big of trouble I needed to do a system restore I would just reinstall windows all together, keeps things fresh, I don't let my computer go more than a few months without a clean install, you can feel your computer starting to get drawn down by an old OS.

Sux that you have to reinstall. Sad

Whether you have to enable system restore on all your disks depends on what you use the disks for. If you use the two secondary? drives for data alone then you don't need system restore since it only monitors core files such as .exe, .dll etc. User created files are not backed up.

Alternatively you could limit the space used by SR (default is 12%) to a lower value. Downside is that you'll get fewer restore points. I remember reading somewhere that one restore point takes up 200-400 MB but I could be wrong on that one.

Edit - Just checked in my System Volume Information folder and each restore point (in my case) is about 50 MB.
