its a install shield error , try setting the compability to win2000 or delete all files in your "C:\Documents and Settings\*your user name*\Application Data\InstallShield" and in other Install shield folders that are located on your Hdd and then try to install it again
the second solution worked for me when i had this error installing Neverwinter Nights 2

I removed all files relating to "install shield" but still no luck, how do you mean setting compability to win 2000? its just an installer problem

when you mount the cd or put it in the cd tray, go to "my computer" and right click on the drive it's in, click explore, look for the installer, right click on it, "properties" click the compatibility mode, check the "run this program in compatibility mode for" the drop down box is now useable and choose 2000 |

Its no hardware problem, i tried to install it on three xp pro machines and i always get the same installation error.

i had this also, i downloaded the ITWINS release and that error was gone but i have 2 new errors
"CRC error: The file C:\blah\UBISOFT\GRAW2\bundles\quick.bundle doesnt match the file in the setup's .cab file. The medium from which you are running the setup maybe currupted
and the same error but with some .bik file
so when i run the game it just errors off
"Crash in application version: 0.2562
Unhandled exception - breakpoint"
i tried extracting the data2.cab from skid's release and using that with the ITWINS release but then i started getting the Error 5006 so i bailed on that
ive emailed UBI about my second problem...waiting on a reply
he had no solution to the install problem (5006) just the same ole bs, clear your temp folder, disable startup programs

I burned the image and I got a CRC detection error too after install. I downloaded off a reliable source and did a sfv checker. I think the problem is the release, it iprobably should be nuked and some people are having success while others aren't. I don't want to waste another disc on this if I don't have to, but if I burned it as an image and mounted the game off of Daemon Tools, do you think I will have the same installation error?

i thought i posted "my" solution
i downloaded 4 different copies of this game, the 4th worked
the first 1 was from skid which gave me the 5006 error, second one was labeled differently but it was skids release..same errors, the second one(itwins) actually let me see the install process but at the last minute "quick.bundle" got a CRC error
then i found another that some random guy ripped and it worked perfectly
of course the email i had going with UBI is closed (i stopped replying) they had no idea how to fix it
so my solution was, download a rip that wasnt from skid/itwins...i found a random rip while browsing binsearch

The game works when you burn it as an image not if you burn it as an ISO. I tested this.
