I download and installed the vista-loader-crack called "Bios emulator for Vista OEM activation softmod_l.iso but it can't activate Vista. I've the Bill Gates Vista. When I install the crack I get a messege: "Updated NTFS-bootcode.The update may be unreliable since the volume could not be locked during the update: access is denied" What do I wrong?

Try running the crack as admin (Right Click -> Run as Administrator; Allow)

Maybe he doesn't want to disable UAC. That's not a mandatory step. Just run as admin.

Well nobody is forcing him to do it. It's an option.

I runned the crack as admin( rightclicking on command-prompt in startmenu)so that is not the solution . I haven't disabled UAC.That could be the problem. What is exactly UAC?
I 'll try to disable it and run the crack again.
Thanks

I diasabled UAC in control-panel but when I install the crack I get the same messege and Vista is not activated. When I installed windows I didn't put in a serial-number, can that be the cause?
I'm stucked, I tried it 10 times,what else can I do?

There is still no need to activate Vista. |
And Timerstop fails as soon as a windows update is done... Thats been worked around by M$ since like 2 weeks after Vista was on General release. the BIOS hack is permament, and cant be worked around. Updates and everything works, unlike Lamerstop. |
No, still works.

Its a matter of trying to use it and not just giving it a quick look and saying "crap" |
That is usually the case with most idiot dissers. They have either never tested it or have crap PCs to support Vista.

it just eats too many resources ... lets wait and see. ME has never been the standard too in the past. i think with vista we have another os to pass imo. the companies however will decide about it. not the pirate userbase.
+10 for myself to cover the reactions ;-)

@manu_xl
vista is no more of a resource hog that xp....its a matter of setup & drivers....my rig runs vista at about 1-3% down compared to xp (and in some apps & games upto 10% faster) it was slower on release but drivers are sorted out now (on the whole, and improving all the time). if your vista rig runs slower than expected then get latest drivers, change ur av (worst offender off hoginess on vista) for diff or updated version...and make sure you have fairly recent hardware (ie sata & decent gfx card & dual or quad core uP).
for me on older games vista & my gfx card are a little bit slower than xp but with latest games its a little quicker (stalker, dirt, 2worlds, overlord etc)
ok enuff for this vista fanboi (im not but thats what i'll be called), time for a jay b4 all the xp/linux/mac fanbois hammer me
intel i7 3770k @4.4, ASRock Z77 Extreme 4, 16GB Corsiar Vengance 1600 ram, ATI 5850 BE, Antec 1 Case, Antec 1 550W PSU, emu0404, 120gb agility3 ssd OS, 2x60gbvertex2raid0 Games, 3 TB total sata2 Data. win7 x64.

in what way?
As in you have no free RAM left compared to XP?
If so then you need to do your homework and then come back to comment... Oh and for the record the thing that "eats your rescources" is called superfetch.. and after using it you'll agree that unused ram is wasted ram when you see your most used apps fly open lightening quick.
The way Vista Manages memory is way beyond what XP and any windows before it did. Its completely new and again you need to use it other than looking at the Task Manager all day and watch your memory go to zero.... Its irrelevant.

Cythrawl, with some of the morons here, I wouldn't bother explaining the technologies here. It won't help.
